Bridge to Bridge Rules Day Licence Information
Please read this, then complete all fields below.
Flag colours and meaning
- Green – Course open
- Yellow – Caution, there may be a skier/boat or obstacle in the water in front of you
- Red – Race stopped, stop immediately
- Orange – The orange flag in your boat should be waved from waterline to waterline should you need immediate assistance (It should NOT be used in case of a breakdown).
If you see another competitor waving their flag you should stop and render assistance.
Spacing between competitors
- At the start of the race- 10m
- When passing another stationary boat or skier- 10m
- When racing next to another competitor- 5m
- When following another competitor- 100m
- When crossing behind another competitor- 20m
Fallen skier
- Reduce speed to idle, check there is no one behind you, do a tight turn and travel back up the rope to your skier, NO FAST OR SWEEPING TURNS
- Raise your orange flag if your skier is in the water
- If someone in your crew requires urgent assistance, wave your orange flag from side to side
- If you see another competitor waving their orange flag from side to side you MUST render assistance
Driver and observer conduct in the boat
- Driver must face forward at all times
- Observer must face backward to observe the skier at all times
- Driver and observers must stay in their seats and feet must be in contact with the floor at all times
Cut out switch
- Must be attached to driver at all times when racing
- Must cut the engine in the event of driver ejection from the boat
Safety equipment
- All members of the crew (driver, observer and skier) must be wearing life jackets
- If your team will be travelling in excess of 35mph all members of the crew must also be wearing helmets or protective headgear
