These Terms and Conditions govern the agreement between David C. Hall ("Speaker") and the event organiser ("Client") for speaking engagements, workshops, and associated services. By booking David C. Hall, the Client agrees to the following terms:
1. Booking Confirmation
1.1 A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a signed contract and the payment of any required deposit.
1.2 A detailed description of the event, including the date, location, duration, and expected audience size, must be provided at the time of booking.
2. Fees and Payment Terms
2.1 The agreed fee must be stated in the contract and paid in full no later than 30 days prior to the event.
2.2 If the booking is made within 30 days of the event, full payment is required immediately upon booking confirmation.
2.3 Late payments may result in the cancellation of the booking and will be subject to a 5% late fee for each week overdue.
3. Travel and Accommodation
3.1 The Client is responsible for covering all travel, accommodation (minimum 4-star hotel), and incidental expenses, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2 International events require business class travel, and local travel within the UK should be arranged in advance or reimbursed.
4. Cancellation Policy
4.1 Cancellations made by the Client must be in writing and are subject to the following fees:
- 50% of the fee if cancelled 30–15 days before the event.
- 100% of the fee if cancelled within 14 days of the event.
4.2 If the Speaker is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, travel disruption), a full refund will be issued, or the event will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
5. Force Majeure
5.1 The Speaker is not liable for any failure or delay in performing services due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, government actions, or health emergencies.
6. Event Requirements
6.1 The Client must provide suitable audio-visual equipment, including microphones, projectors, and sound systems, as well as any other equipment agreed upon in advance.
6.2 The Client must ensure that the venue is properly equipped and suitable for the event, including providing a comfortable environment for the Speaker and audience.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 The content of the Speaker's presentation, including slides, handouts, and materials, remains the intellectual property of David C. Hall.
7.2 Recording the presentation in audio, video, or any other format is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
8. Complimentary Books
8.1 The Speaker will provide up to 100 complimentary signed copies of his books, as agreed in the booking, provided the number is confirmed at least 14 days before the event.
8.2 Any additional books requested by the Client will be charged at the agreed rate.
9. Client Responsibility
9.1 The Client is responsible for promoting the event and ensuring an appropriate audience for the engagement.
9.2 The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Speaker from any claims arising from the event, except in cases of gross negligence or misconduct by the Speaker.
10. Amendments
10.1 Any amendments to these terms and conditions must be agreed upon in writing by both the Speaker and the Client.
11. Governing Law
11.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Vendor Area and Promotion of Products
12.1 The Client agrees to provide a designated vendor area at the event for the sale or promotion of David C. Hall's materials, such as books, coaching programmes, and other related products.
12.2 The Client grants permission for the Speaker to promote his services, events, or products (e.g., books, coaching programmes) during the event, where appropriate.
12.3 Promotional materials, such as brochures or business cards, may be made available in the vendor area or distributed during the event with the Client’s consent.
