2025 Michigan Design Prize Competition

Select a sport and design a single piece or an equipment set that focuses on an inclusive challenge facing the youth of Michigan. When selecting the sport, it needs to be something enjoyed in Michigan and celebrates the states unique recreational attributes such as diverse outdoor terrain, having all four seasons, or played by the diverse cultural communities throughout the state. The design solution can be for team sports or individual sports.

We are so happy you are submitting your design idea for the Michigan Design Prize 2025! Here is some information to help you submit your best design:
- We are looking for great ideas versus polished products. To help us understand your idea as best as possible, please provide photos of sketches, simple three- dimensional models/prototypes, or a combination of the two.
- Keep in mind that industrial design is about both functionality and beauty. How does it work and how does it look.
- In addition to representing your idea, we are looking for solutions to the challenge that demonstrate you took time to learn about your user and discover THEIR needs.
