  • Policies, Permission, and Release

    A signed permission form is required of all participating singers.

  • Hereby authorize my child to participate in Every Voice Choirs ("The Choirs") which are administered by Every Voice Choirs, Inc.

  • I. TUITION AND REFUND POLICIES

    Please read this section carefully before you register your child.

  • Tuition, Scholarships, & Payment Plan

  • The tuition for EVC's Kids Choir, Youth Choir, Concert Choir, and VoiceAbility is $1100 per year. There is a non-refundable $40 registration fee for all programs.

    Payment of tuition is required at time of registration in order to hold your child’s spot in our program.

    Need-based scholarships are available. Families requesting financial aid should complete the Financial Aid Application section.

    Payment may be made in 5 equal monthly installments. To request a payment plan, select "Payment Plan".

  • Refund Policy

  • For children that withdraw from EVC programs, refunds will be issued as follows:

    • Before the third class: 75% refund
    • Before the sixth class: 50% refund

    The $40 registration fee is non-refundable.

  • II. ATTENDANCE & DISMISSAL POLICIES

  • Attendance Policy

  • EVC’s work is highly participatory; we do a lot more than learn songs. As a condition to participation, Every Voice Choirs requires a commitment to attendance from all singers. In the case of an unavoidable conflict with a rehearsal, please contact your child’s Choir Director and Assistant Director – well in advance. In the case of acute illness, contact the directors as soon as possible before rehearsal.

    Students who miss two or more rehearsals will perform at the discretion of the director. That means they may not be allowed to perform, or they may be allowed to participate in only a portion of the performance. There will be no tuition refund for students who are not allowed to perform. Decisions regarding readiness to perform due to absence may be made by the director at any time preceding a performance.

    Students who miss more than three rehearsals may fall behind to an extent that they cannot catch up. Students who have fallen significantly behind due to absence may, at the director's discretion, be required to leave the program with no refund of tuition.

  • Dismissal Policy

  • Students must be picked up after rehearsal by a parent/guardian unless they are given permission to self-dismiss by their guardian. Please indicate below whether you grant permission for your child to self-dismiss from choir activities including rehearsals and performances.

  • III. Use of Photographs, Videotapes, and Interviews for Publicity and for Educational Purpose

    I authorize Every Voice Choirs, Inc. and its agents and Teachers College and its agents to (please check each that applies):

  • I voluntarily waive any right, cause of action, or demand of any kind whatsoever resulting from such photographs, recordings, videotapes, or interviews of my child from which any liability may or could accrue to Every Voice Choirs, Inc. or to Teachers College.

    I also understand that neither Every Voice Choirs, Inc. nor Teachers College will give me or my child any compensation for using my child's photograph, videotape, or interview in its promotional materials. Thus, by signing this document, I waive any rights to any compensation now or in the future.

    I further understand that all photographs and video recordings, if authorized, will remain the property of Every Voice Choirs, Inc.

  • IV. Communication Plan

  • In order to communicate with choir families, Every Voice Choirs obtains and maintains contact information for all singers' parents or legal guardians as well as emergency contacts other than a parent or legal guardian. Parents/legal guardians and emergency contacts must be accessible through the contact information provided at registration. This contact information remains confidential among Every Voice Choirs staff.

    In the event of an emergency, Every Voice Choirs will first contact a singer's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) and then the singer's emergency contact using the information provided on this registration form. For events under the jurisdiction of Columbia University Teachers College, Every Voice Choirs will provide emergency contact information for choir members for the TC Office of Public Safety. The Office of Public Safety will only use this contact information in case of emergency.

  • V. Medical and Medical Emergency Plan

  • I affirm that any allergies, conditions, physical limitations, or any other medical considerations (including medications) that might impact my child’s participation in the program have been disclosed to Every Voice Choirs, Inc. with appropriate guidance or instructions on the registration form. Every Voice Choirs will keep all provided medical information confidential.

  • VI. Indemnification

  • I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Every Voice Choirs, Inc. and Teachers College, and their respective licensees, agents, successors, and assignees from any and all claims and liability for damages, losses, or expenses of any sort (including attorneys' fees) arising from my child's participation in the Choir, including, without limitation, claims with respect to his/her right to privacy or publicity, in perpetuity.

    I have read and understand the contents hereof, and I have the right and authority to execute this release and indemnification. I understand that this Permission and Publicity Release is to be interpreted under the laws of the State of New York without resort to its conflict of laws rules, and I hereby submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New York.

  • Financial Aid Application

    All information provided herein will be kept confidential. Scholarships are awarded based on the information provided on this form and the availability of scholarship funds. We will respond to scholarship requests as soon as possible, generally within two weeks.

  • EVC scholarships are awarded on the basis of need. We assess financial need as a function of household income and the number of people supported by that income, as well as other significant factors (e.g. medical expenses). 

    Please note that for significant awards of financial aid, we may request documentation such as paystubs. Please do not provide that documentation at this time; we will contact you to request it as necessary.

    We offer a payment plan for tuition with six equal, monthly payments. You may choose to start the payment plan immediately or by August 15th. The five remaining payments are due monthly after the first payment.
