• Survey of Anesthesiology Practices that Utilize the IDRE process

ASA is contacting you today to ask that you complete an important questionnaire regarding insurance companies who fail to pay ASA members who have prevailed in the No Surprises Act (NSA) Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process. Under provisions of the No Surprises Act law, physicians who engage in IDR process and win must be paid within 30 days by the insurer. ASA has continued to hear from members that some insurers are not complying with the 30-day deadline. Recently, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (R-NC) introduced H.R. 9572, the No Surprises Enforcement Act, a bill to add penalties for insurers who fail to comply with NSA requirements, including making payments to IDR winners within 30 days of the arbiters' decision.  ASA was pleased to work with Congressman Murphy and his staff on this legislation. ASA has endorsed the legislation and is working to build support for consideration and passage of the bill. As part of our advocacy around H.R. 9572, ASA is seeking additional information from those groups that utilize the NSA IDR process. Please take a moment to complete the questions below.
