Year 6 Wetlands Trip
I am pleased to inform you that Year 6 will be going on a school trip to the WWF Mai Po Wetlands on Monday 7th October (Y6MP and y6SK) and Tuesday 8th October (Y6RA and Y6HK). Children will leave school at approximately 8am and leave Mai Po Wetlands at 12:15, after eating lunch.This trip links to both our Discovery Unit, Ecosystems, and to our English unit linked to the book 'Meadowlands'.
For the trip, the students will be visiting the WWF Mai Po Wetlands to uncover the significance of wetlands to humans and wildlife through sensory exploration and interactive games, whilst also learning to appreciate various wetland habitats
On the day of your child's trip, we ask them to be at school no later than 7:50am and to wear their PE kit. Please apply sunscreen and mosquito repellent before school. Children will need to bring:
- A snack and packed lunch
- A hat
- Water bottle
- LA light rain jacket
Parent Volunteers
We would welcome parent volunteers to support this trip, aiming for two volunteers per class. Please contact your child's class teacher via email if you are interested in joining us.
Payment
The trip costs $70 per child. This is payment for the bus only, there is no fee for visiting the Mai Po Wetlands. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
All cheques to be made payable to 'Discovery Bay International School Ltd.'
Online bank transfer is also accepted provided that the transfer slip and student information are emailed to the accounts office (accounts@dbis.edu.hk) for reconciliation purposes.
