- PlayPeace Code of Conduct
PlayPeace is a parent and child led charity where we are committed to the safety and well being of all. We want children with additional needs to feel welcome, along with their siblings and parents/carers. To maintain this we need everyone to follow this code.
Parents and carers are responsible for the behaviour, safety and well being of their child/ren and young people at all times when at PlayPeace
PlayPeace will not accept any form of bullying, inappropriate language or shouting at the club. We recognise that children and young people all have their individual needs, triggers and fears. We will promote a calm environment and adults should maintain this whilst at PlayPeace
We ask that Parents and Carers ....
- Maintain an eye on your child/young person at all times including if they need to go outwith our space eg to use the toilet
- Support and encourage their participation with the activities offered
- Be proactive and involved as early as possible when any potentially unsafe situation emerges involving your child or young person – this includes conflict between children, distressed behaviours , or putting self or others in danger
- Encourage your child/ren /young people to understand the visuals we display at sessions that promote safe behaviours
- Talk to other parent's directly if there is a behavioural or any issue with their child, and don’t tell off others’ kids - we don’t know each others’ parenting styles or the childrens’ triggers
- Keep track of your child/ren ...ask for another pair of eyes on them if you need a quick break or make arrangements with another parent to take turns for a break!
- Provide us information about your child by completing the registration form fully
Everyone is expected to follow this code of conduct (families, staff and volunteers). The Board will reserve the right to take action if required to ensure that this Code is upheld within PlayPeace.
