How did you hear about this program?*
To make the most of this program and to ensure a safe and supportive experience for everyone, it is recommended that participants have some previous experience with somatic/ nervous system healing either 1:1 or in a group, including a good knowledge of autonomic responses and an ability to identify signs of nervous system activation. Please share about your experience with somatics or other forms of body-based healing.*

The SSP can at times provoke strong emotional and physical responses. It is important that you're in a space and time where you can safely tolerate and work with discomfort when it arises. What is included in your current support system/ circle of care? *

COUNTER-INDICATIONS: The SSP is not recommended for those experiencing active psychosis, currently on antipsychotic medication, or with recent psychiatric hospitalizations. The SSP is not recommended for those with active or uncontrolled seizures, active tinnitus, or who are actively reporting thoughts of suicide. Participants with acute PTSD or C-PTSD symptoms may find it challenging to be in a group setting as this process can include a gentle disarming of psychological defences. Please check in with Marika to determine if your nervous system would be better suited to do this journey in an individual setting rather than a group. Participants need to have a stable and safe enough home environment to return to after each listening session without threat of physical harm.*

DISCLAIMER: This program is not a substitute for psychotherapy, and does not entail unpacking personal histories and trauma material. It is recommended that participants have individualized therapeutic support outside the group to help with integration. Marika Heinrichs is acting as a facilitator and guide in the role of Somatic Practitioner. This group offers guidance through the SSP 5 hour listening program alongside other modalities which Marika has trained in.*

TECH REQUIREMENTS: Participants will need to have over-the-ear headphones (with noise-cancelation turned OFF) and a smartphone or tablet to access the SSP platform. Earbuds are not suitable for SSP listening. Instruction and support for set-up will be provided during orientation.*

INFORMED CONSENT: I understand that the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a listening therapy with the potential to create meaningful, positive shifts in the autonomic nervous system, including in sensory, autonomic, physiological, emotional and cognitive domains. However, no warranty or guarantee of specific results has been made to me. I understand that a temporary increase in arousal or symptoms may occur. I agree to notify Marika if I experience any of the following: increased auditory or other sensory sensitivities, ear discomfort, pressure or “ringing" in the ears, emotional dysregulation (changes in nervous system arousal), gastrointestinal discomfort, fatigue, or headaches. I have had the opportunity to have my questions answered, understand the process for listening, and have access to the needed equipment. I understand that I may pause or discontinue listening at any time. I consent to using the SSP and accept all associated risks.*

REFUND POLICY: A refund of full tuition paid minus $100 if cancellation is made up to 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. A refund of 50% of tuition paid minus $100 is available if cancellation is made 1 week prior to the start of the course. No refund is available if cancellation is made within 3 days of the start of the course.*
