At Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs our mission is to be your immediate choice for quality daycare and overnight boarding when you cannot be there - Leaving your furry friend with trained, qualified staff who will love and care for your pet just as much as you do. We are here to assist you with the responsibilities of being the best pet owner you can be. At Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs, we provide professional Doggie Daycare and Boarding services that introduce structure, reinforce polite manners, and nurture happy dogs.

You are your dog's best friend and you want him to have the best of everything - a healthy routine, a safe environment, people who care, plenty of exercise, and a happy group of dog friends. That's what we're all about.

Our application, policies, and waivers are detailed, thorough, and lengthy for the safety and health of your pet, and all pets in our center, and may contain questions or require acknowledgement on difficult circumstances. Please take the time to read through each section and contact us at any time should you have any questions on this application or any policies.

Please return your entire COMPLETED packet, along with a copy (either hard copy, or emailed to our attention) of your pups most recent vaccines. If any section is left blank, your waiver will be deemed incomplete. Please send all vaccines to our email play@doggiesdayoutofps.com. You may ask your veterinarian to email us vaccines, Doggies Day Out CANNOT request vaccines directly from your veterinarian. You will be responsible for providing vaccine records.

Before we can provide ANY type of services, a complete set of WAIVERS, a complete APPLICATION, and up to date VACCINE RECORDS must be received in ADVANCE. This cannot be submitted the day of services needed.

After all required paperwork is received, reviewed, approved, and entered, Doggie's Day Out will be in contact with you to schedule your daycare, or if needed, your boarding evaluation.

Evaluations are held WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY of each week and must be scheduled with Doggie's Day Out in advance. Drop-in services for evaluations cannot be accommodated. Please contact Doggies Day Out of Palm Springs for evaluation pricing and requirements.

This is a required form for all Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs participants receiving services.

First and for most the safety and well-being of your pet(s) is of the highest importance. Ensuring that your pet remains safe and well cared for is our first responsibility, and as such we take it very seriously. We do our best to have our pet owners screen for pre-existing health conditions, but some factors may be beyond our control. In the event that a medical emergency arises while a pet is at our facility, or participating in a service that we provide, it is imperative that we are immediately able to get them medical treatment at closest available facility. We will call ahead to the veterinary offices in closest proximity geographically to ensure they can handle the emergency present. Your pet will be transported to the closest available facility for treatment and you will be notified. We notify the owner AFTER we have secured a medical treatment center for the animal, to avoid delays that may be caused by emotion. Our goal is to get your pet medical attention as quickly as humanly possible, and any distractions may interfere with that process.

For that reason, it is a requirement to have Owners sign this form.

I understand that in the event of a medical emergency, Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs, at its sole discretion, may deem it necessary to seek immediate attention of a licensed veterinarian. I authorize Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs to seek medical attention at the closest available veterinary facility.

I further agree that I am financially responsible for any medical treatment my pet(s) receives as a result of a medical emergency while attending services provided by Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs.

Temperament:

All new Doggie Daycare dogs must pass an onsite temperament evaluation prior to scheduling daycare or boarding visits. Since Doggie Daycare applicants are off leash in the play areas, aggressive or possessive dogs are not accepted. Temperament evaluations are conducted by appointment only.

We retain the right to refuse and/or any dog if it is determined to be unsuitable for our programs. Common reasons for a dog to be denied admittance include but are not limited to: showing aggressive behavior toward our playroom handlers or other dogs, anti-social, showing overly nervous or anxious behavior, showing overly possessive tendencies, or having concerning medical issues.

How does the evaluation process work? Your dog will spend the first hour in a kennel, getting used to a new environment with new sounds, smells and humans. We will watch how they act while walking past other barking dogs in kennels around them. They will be taken outside with a staff member in our private yard, and we will observe how they act outside. We will do a hands-on test to ensure the safety of our staff which includes putting our hands around your dog's mouth, ears, and touching all four paws. If your pup does well with humans, we will move onto the next step which is introducing them to other dogs through the playroom fence. The last step is to bring them fully into the playroom and introduce them to other daycare dogs one at a time!

What is temperament testing? The requirements for a dog to participate in Doggie Daycare is more stringent than for boarding. Doggie Daycare is designed for social, outgoing dogs who like to play with other dogs. A typical day involves meeting, greeting, and interacting with a variety of unfamiliar dogs. Many dogs thrive on constant social interaction, but some dogs do not understand or even like to be put into this type of situation. We want all our guests to enjoy a safe, fun-filled day with us. A temperament test is the process we use to determine if your dog is a good candidate for Doggie Daycare.

What happens during the temperament test? The evaluation lasts at least 3 hours, this allows us to slowly introduce your dog to the playgroup. Your dog will enter the empty playroom, this allows them to smell and observe the playroom comfortably and at their own pace. Once we feel your pup is ready, we will introduce your pup one to two dogs at a time. After your pup has been introduced to the entire playroom, your pup will spend the remainder of the evaluation in daycare until you pick up. During this time, our playgroup handlers will observe how they play and interact with the other dogs. We will report everything back to the owners at pick up and discuss if we feel your dog is a good fit or not!

What happens if your dog is not suitable for daycare? We are mindful of the safety, health, and enjoyment of every guest. Occasionally, we meet a dog that initially is not a good candidate for a daycare setting. There are a variety of reasons for this - sometimes a dog is very shy, sometimes they lack good play skills, sometimes they are frightened or aggressive. If your dog is not initially accepted into our Doggie Daycare program, we are happy to recommend our Day Boarding Services, or to our facility trainer who will help you address specific concerns until we feel your dog is ready to join play group! For pet parents seeking a daycare alternative, Day Boarding is a great option. Dogs in Day Boarding DO NOT encounter dog interaction; however, they enjoy the privacy a K9 kennel for the day, with a 20-minute private play time, and regular outdoor potty breaks every hour, without an overnight stay. Excellent candidates for Day Boarding are dogs who do not socialize well, who can't be left home alone, or who need special care or handling throughout the day while pet parents are at work.

Age: All Dogs are required to be at least 6 months of age.

Spayed/Neutered: All dogs must be spayed or neutered by the age of 9 months.

Vaccinations: All dogs must have current (at least 7 days prior) vaccination including Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP (or DH2PP or DHPP), Leptospirosis and K9 Influenza.

We will NOT book any services with missing or incomplete vaccines.

Flea & Tick Protection: It is recommended that you use a flea & tick prevention protocol. Dogs with fleas & ticks will be prohibited from the facility until the problem has been successfully addressed. Any pups found with fleas or ticks while in our care will be isolated immediately, and the owner will be contacted to pick them up.

Heartworm: Because your dog will be mixing with others, it is a good idea to have your dog on veterinarian approved heartworm preventative, though this is not a requirement to attend.

Collars, Leashes and Barking: All dogs MUST be on leash when entering and existing our facility. Once inside, you must keep your dog's leash IN HAND until a staff member is ready to take your pet. DO NOT let your dog run free between our front door and your car. All dogs must wear a proper fitting collar or harness while in our care.

Please DO NOT allow your dog to approach other dogs in the parking lot or lobby. Some of our dogs may be friendly in daycare, however some may be leash reactive, protective of their owners, or they don't join daycare due to not being dog friendly.

Please DO NOT allow your dog to be overly vocal on the way in. We understand that dogs get excited and may be eager to come in and play, and eliminating barking may be easier said than done, but we need to be good neighbors and minimize outside noise.

Service Fees:

Payment is required at the time service is rendered.

You may be required to leave a card on file for extended stays.

Late Fees:

Daycare guests not picked up by 6:00pm Monday - Friday, 3:00pm Saturday - Sunday will be charged a late fee of $30.00.

Any pets not picked up by 6:15pm Monday - Friday, 3:15pm Saturday - Sunday will be considered an overnight guest and will be charged the appropriate boarding fee.

Boarding guests not picked up by 11:00am on the last day of boarding will be charged a 1/2 day of the appropriate boarding fee.

Boarding guests not picked up by 2:00pm on the last day of boarding will be charged a FULL day of the appropriate boarding fee.

I understand that the cement flooring, while providing a very good playing surface, may cause blisters, abrasions or scrapes to appear on the pads of my dog(s) feet. Also, some dogs pads/skin may be sensitive to the disinfectant used throughout the facility. If the staff of Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs notices my dog(s) limping, favoring, or licking a paw/other body parts, they will make a reasonable attempt to reduce activity levels, but are not liable or responsible for such injuries. Furthermore, I understand that abrasions, nicks, scratches, or spit/slobber found on my dog after daycare or boarding would be a normal consequence of play and interacting with other dogs and will not hold Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs liable for such wounds or injuries.*

I understand my dog will be required to be outside in the summer months to use the bathroom. Although bathroom related accidents happen in the playroom and in kennels, Doggies Day Out has shaded bathroom areas and are never left outside unattended for an extended period. All Daycare, Day Boarding, Standard Boarding, Boarding and Daycare dogs are required to spend a short time outside to potty. Due to severe weather conditions, length of bathroom breaks may be limited.*

If, in my absence, my dog should become ill, injured, or need veterinary care, Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs has my permission to consult with my veterinarian and I realize Doggie's Day Out of Palm Springs will make a reasonable effort to bring my dog to my veterinarian or emergency animal clinic. Doggie’s Day Out of Palm Springs also employs the use of treats, redirection, brief on-lead time and/or timeouts to get compliance from dogs and curb unwanted behavior such as barking, mounting or overly rambunctious behavior.*

I understand my dog may be “suspended” from daycare at any time and will need to be reevaluated if they become an issue in playgroup. We understand daycare is a fun environment for all dogs in the playroom, if my dog shows signs of anxiety or any kind of inappropriate behavior such as snapping, mounting, aggressive play, etc. which causes them to be disruptive, Doggies Day Out has the right to remove my dog from daycare and discuss future options.*

I understand and acknowledge Doggie’s Day Out of Palm Springs, though a cage free Doggie Daycare Center, also utilizes a mid-day “Quiet Time” between the hours of Noon – 2:00pm and my dog MAY be kenneled during this time. “Quiet Time” is a time for pups to rest and recoup. Dogs ARE allowed to play quietly and gently during this time, but there is no running, barking, or rough wrestling allowed. I understand any dog at Doggie’s Day Out of Palm Springs discretion, or pups that do not settle, may be kenneled during this time, which may include my dog.*

For pet parents seeking a daycare alternative, Day Boarding is the option for you! Dogs in Day Boarding enjoy the privacy a K9 kennel for the day, with a 20-minute private play time and outdoor potty breaks every hour.

Payment for any Boarding Services are due when service is rendered.

Though these overnight guests DO NOT participate in daycare services, Standard Boarding dogs do enjoy a privacy K9 kennel, with a 20-minute private play time and outdoor potty breaks every hour.
