Memo of Understanding
I, on behalf of myself and my child(ren), understand that participation in all activities and events provided by Glenn K Kimber Academies is voluntary. I am aware of and understand that the nature of the activities and events for which I or my child(ren) may participate in will require a certain level of behavioral etiquette consistent with small or large groups. I, therefore, will adhere to and follow, as well as instruct my child(ren) to adhere to and follow, the underlying code of conduct at each event provided by Glenn K Kimber Academies.
Respect:
(1) No form of overtly aggressive behavior, to include hitting, kicking, biting, pushing, pulling of another person's body or clothing, or any other action meant to inflict harm or injury to that person or their property, will be tolerated.
(2) No unauthorized throwing of objects will be allowed. Authorized throwing would include objects provided by the camp for the use of games and activities at the appropriate time.
(3) No disruptive or diminutive behavior will be allowed, to include arguing, yelling at another individual, name calling, or use of epithets.
Two-deep Leadership:
(1) No adult is permitted to be left alone with a minor or group of minors who are not of their own kin. Kimber Academy requires that all adults stay within sight and sound of at least one other authorized adult at all times at its events.
(2) No Youth Leader is permitted to be left alone with an adult, minor, or group of minors who are not of their own kin. Kimber Academy requires that all Youth Leaders be within sight and sound of at least one other Youth Leader at all times at its events.
(3) No adult or youth leader is permitted to initiate physical contact of any kind with a minor, that is not their own kin, which can be construed as inappropriate. If a child requests or offers a hug, it must be kept appropriate and platonic in nature.
Bathroom Policy:
(1) Bathrooms will be provided which shall not be used as a play area.
(2) Regardless of bathroom capacity, no adults will be permitted to enter or use the restroom when minors are present that are not of their own kin. The restroom must be cleared of minors before use.
(3) In the event that a camper or group of campers must use the restroom, they will be escorted by at least one youth leader or authorized adult who will enter the bathroom briefly to ensure that it is cleared of non-campers and will then exit to remain outside of the restroom while the minor(s) use the restroom.
Safety:
(1) Any adult in possession of a self-defense tool at a Kimber Academy event must follow the local laws where the event is located. Regardless of jurisdiction, no open-carry firearm or any other visible self-defense tool will be allowed at Kimber Academy during Auriverde events.
(2) No minor will be allowed to possess a weapon of any degree.
(3) For safety, all adult participants, volunteers, and presenters will be checked on the offender registry. In the event that an individual violates this code of conduct, depending on the age of the individual and the severity of the violation, the Camp Director may give a verbal warning, restrict participation privileges, or suspend the individual from camp for the remainder of the day up to the remainder of the week. If the violation was committed by a minor, contact will be made by the Camp Director to the parent or guardian to inform what happened and what action should be taken for succeeding days. If a severe violation is made that violates local laws, the violation will be reported to the authorities. Refunds will not be issued as a result of Code of Conduct violations.
If camp registration is canceled fifteen (15) or more days prior to the camp start date, a full refund will be issued, minus a $5 expense fee per person canceled in the reservation. Due to camp expenses, if registration is canceled with less than fifteen (15) days notice, a 50% refund will be issued, minus a $5 expense fee per person canceled in the reservation. No refund will be issued for reservations canceled with less than 5 days notice prior to camp or for Youth Leaders that cancel their reservation with less than fifteen (15) days notice.
