2024 Educational Interiors Showcase: Submit Your Entry
  • Educational Interiors Showcase Entry Form

    Deadline: Friday, April 25, 2025
  • Thank you for entering the 2025 American School & University Educational Interiors Showcase. As a reminder, we need to receive one online portfolio submission per entry by Friday, April 25.

Please find below the form to submit your portfolio online. The jury’s decision will be based solely on the material furnished. The information printed in the Educational Interiors Showcase issue will be used directly from what is submitted online. Thus, take care that materials accurately depict the project and have all necessary internal and external approvals for judging and publication. There is not an opportunity to rewrite the project description, change photos, or change image preferences after judging is completed. Please review the 2025 Portfolio Submission Instructions and FAQ before you begin your upload.

Please note: To save your form and continue later, you will click the “Save” button at the bottom of the form. A box will appear that asks you to save your progress with Google, Facebook, or Create An Account. OR you can click the “Skip Create An Account” choice at the bottom, which will bring up a new box that allows you to input an email address where an email with the link to return to your form will be sent. Note that the form stores information for up to three months. If submitting multiple entries, please complete and submit your first project, then return to https://schooldesigns.com/eis-submission-materials/ to begin the process for each additional project and enter the new information for the next submission.

Click here to complete the Manufacturers List. The Manufacturers List can be either submitted with your portfolio, or can be submitted separately by Friday, June 6.

There is no need to send a hard copy of your submission materials. Once you have completed your online submission, your submission is complete.

If you have any questions about your Educational Interiors Showcase entry, please contact Heather Buzzard at hbuzzard@asumag.com. Thank you for your entry and good luck!

  • Contact Information

Contact information for the person completing this form.

  • Please list contact information for the firm/office that completed the project. Note that this is the contact information that will be included in print and online indexes associated with the Educational Interiors Showcase.

  • Project Data

  • Project Description

Include 175 words for one page of published material, plus additional words for multi-page layouts (i.e. 300 total words if you’ve selected a two-page layout - see Call For Entries for page layout word counts). This should include the educational program requirements, the designer's response, special or unusual problems, and technical information on construction, materials and mechanical systems.

  • Site/Space Plans

A minimum of one space plan is required for judging. Upload one plan for each floor or area being judged. If sending more than four plans, you may send the additional images via email to EIS@asumag.com. We also can retrieve photos via Dropbox or your own FTP site.

Space plans should include a North-South designation to indicate the building’s orientation. Any description needed should be brief (150 letters max, shorter preferred) and is not published - but used to tell the jury what the plan is.

  • Photographs

    • All photos intended for print should be 300 DPI. They can be uploaded as TIF, EPS or JPEG files (8" x 10" or similar size preferred).

    • Include one overall exterior shot photograph to show the project in context. An exterior shot is requested even if only interior work was completed. Interior images are prioritized before exterior images in page layouts. Please note that Educational Interiors Showcase layouts rarely use more than one exterior image, and never use an exterior image as the primary image on a page. If an exterior image should not be printed, please select "do not print" from the print preference pulldown menu.

    • Include at least four additional shots of the project that illustrate various aspects of the entry category.

    • For one-page layouts, submit 6-8 photos; for two-page layouts, submit 8-10 photos.

    • Choose photos that visually demonstrate what you’ve said in your project description. When possible, include people in your photographs to show context. Photos should pertain to the category in which you are submitting.

    • Include a short description with each photo (e.g., reading nook). Maximum text count is 150 letters, shorter descriptions preferred. The description is not published, but is used to tell the jury what the image is.

    • Include a photographer credit for each photo, or in the case of renderings/drawings, the firm responsible for the image.

    • Use pulldown menus to rank print preference for each image. Images that should not be printed should be tagged "do not print." Highest ranked images will be used in the magazine, however interior images are prioritized. If images are not ranked, the editorial team will select which images to print.

    • If you experience problems uploading photos via this form, or have more than ten photos, you may also send electronic photo files via email to EIS@asumag.com. We also can retrieve photos via Dropbox or your own FTP site.

    •  The Interior Renovation and Historic Preservation categories require at least one "before" photo with a corresponding "after" photo. It is best to showcase an interior space if possible, but exteriors are accepted as well. If you are uploading more than one before image please note in the photo description which after photo it corresponds to.

    • Interior Work In Progress entries should send renderings, sketches or planning concepts, as well as any furniture, wall or other interior treatment samples/considerations.

    • AS&U editorial staff has final decision over what is included in the printed project and may choose to print only those photos that relate to your selected entry category.
