    Use this form to nominate a GSOFCT volunteer for a GSUSA recognition.
  • All nominees and recognition recipients must be active registered Girl Scout adult volunteers in good standing with GSOFCT (ie: complete all required training, current background checks, and no outstanding balances or restrictions). Recognitions should honor the efforts of the volunteers during the current or previous membership year unless specifically stated in the recognition criteria.

  • Nominator Information

    Nominations can be submitted by anyone OTHER than the nominee. This includes other GSOFCT volunteers, council staff, Girl Scout family members, Girl Scouts, and more. The person submitting the nomination does not need to be a registered member of GSOFCT. Volunteers CANNOT nominate themselves for recognition.

  • GSUSA Recognitions: Volunteer of Excellence 


    Description: 
    This recognizes volunteers who have contributed significantly while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the National Program Portfolio OR who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission in one or more of the following functional areas: Membership Development/Community Cultivation, Volunteer Support, Program, Leadership and Governance, Fund Development, or Council Support Services.  The nominee actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior. The volunteer may only receive this recognition once. 


    Criteria: 

    • The nominee serves in a role other than, or in addition to, a Co-Leader  
    • The nominee has presented the GSLE to successfully achieve the 5 outcomes (Strong Sense of Self, Positive Values, Challenge-Seeking, Healthy Relationships, Community Problem-Solving) 
    • The nominee consistently lives by and practices the ideals outlined in the Girl Scout Promise & Law. 

    Pre-Requisites/Nomination/Endorsements:

    • 1 Letter of Endorsement

    Description: 
    This recognizes the volunteers' exemplary service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the National Program Portfolio OR who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission in one or more of the following functional areas: Membership Development/Community Cultivation, Volunteer Support, Program, Leadership and Governance, Fund Development, or Council Support Services. Volunteer service must have occurred within at least one specific Service Unit or geographic area.  The nominee actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior. The volunteer may only receive this recognition once. 

    Criteria: 

    • The nominee serves in a role other than, or in addition to, a Co-Leader and has provided significant assistance to the service unit or geographic area, measurably contributing to the goals and/or objectives of the region. 
    • The nominee has presented the GSLE to successfully achieve the 5 outcomes (Strong Sense of Self, Positive Values, Challenge-Seeking, Healthy Relationships, Community Problem-Solving). 
    • The nominee consistently lives by and practices the ideals outlined in the Girl Scout Promise & Law. 
    • The nominee has held a significant volunteer role for a minimum of 3 years (including but not limited to Co-Leader, committee member, Gold Award Advisor, etc).

    • 2 Letters of Endorsement 
    • (Recommended that the nominee has previously received the Volunteer of Excellence pin) 
  • GSUSA Recognitions: Honor Pin  

    Description: 
    This recognizes the volunteers' exemplary service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the National Program Portfolio OR who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission in one or more of the following functional areas: Membership Development/Community Cultivation, Volunteer Support, Program, Leadership and Governance, Fund Development, or Council Support Services. Volunteer service must have occurred within two or more Service Units or geographic areas.  The nominee actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior. The volunteer may only receive this recognition once. 

    Criteria:

    • The nominee has provided significant assistance to the service unit or geographic area measurably contributing to the goals and/or objectives of the region. 
    • The nominee has presented the GSLE to successfully achieve the 5 outcomes (Strong Sense of Self, Positive Values, Challenge-Seeking, Healthy Relationships, Community Problem-Solving). 
    • The nominee consistently lives by and practices the ideals outlined in the Girl Scout Promise & Law.
    • The nominee has held a volunteer role for a minimum of 3 years.

    Description: 
    This recognition honors an individual whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals by building communities of girls and young women that support our Girl Scout values and mission as a priority of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout movement. The nominee actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior. The volunteer may only receive this recognition once.  

    Criteria: 

    • The outstanding service performed by the nominee resulted in outcomes that benefited the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization and is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.  
    • The nominee has taken a leadership role at the council level in one or more of the following areas:  
      • Increasing membership growth and retention  
      • Increasing the percentageof adult-generated funding in the total council income  
      • Increasing innovative program or training opportunities and participation council-wide 
      • Developing broad participation in policy-influencing through the democratic process  

    Pre-Requisites/Nomination/Endorsements: 

    • 1 Nomination  
    • 3 Letters of Endorsement  
      • Including 1 Endorsement Letter from their MES or a council staff member 
    • OR
      • Previously received the Honor Pin & 2 Letters of Endorsement 
      • Including 1 Endorsement Letter from their MES or a council staff member 
  • GSUSA Recognitions: Thanks Badge II


    Description: 
    This recognition honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role which resulted in a measurable impact benefitting the entire Girl Scout Movement.  The nominee actively recognizes, understands, and practices the values of inclusive behavior. The volunteer may only receive this recognition once.  


    Criteria: 
    The outstanding service performed by the nominee resulted in outcomes that benefited the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization and is so significantly above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate.  It is a way of saying thanks again to an outstanding individual who has contributed greatly and continuously to Girl Scouting.  

    Pre-Requisites/Nomination/Endorsements: 

    • 1 Nomination  
    • 3 Letters of Endorsement  
      • Including 1 Endorsement Letter from their MES or a council staff member 
    • Previously received the Thanks Badge 
      • At least 3 years have elapsed since receiving the Thanks Badge

    Endorsements are separate from, and in addition to, the nomination. Endorsers must differ from the original nominator and cannot be from the nominee.
