    Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons (GSDH) is committed to providing all girls the opportunity to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This scholarship is designed to assist new and renewing girl members in our council jurisdiction by providing supplemental resources beyond a family’s ability to pay. 

    Important Information 

    • Service Unit/Troop Programs: Scholarships for service unit programs are managed by the service unit and not facilitated through this form. Inquire directly with your troop leader and/or service unit manager regarding requests for programs planned and facilitated by your local service unit and troops.
    • Dakota Horizons Council Programs: This form serves as both an application for scholarship, and if approved, becomes the Girl Scout's registration form for the program. Opportunities that require registration and/or payment to outside partners will require you to complete their registration and payment process. The scholarship request will be reviewed, however, will not serve as a registration for the opportunity. 
    • Submit scholarship request at least 1 week prior to program registration deadline. 
    • Scholarship assistance is eligible for review on upcoming costs only and cannot be applied to expenses that have already been paid. 
    • Scholarships requested by troop co-leaders for multiple troop members will be reviewed and are granted on a case by case basis.
    • Scholarship allocations are subject to available funds within the council’s current operating budget.
    • If your Girl Scout is not able to attend, please contact us at help@gsdakotahorizons.org to submit a cancellation. Cancellations made within 3 weeks of the session date or no-show instances may affect future scholarship opportunities for the Girl Scout.

    Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons encourages girls to become self-sufficient through participation in the product programs. Additionally, she and her caregivers can seek support from the troop and the local Girl Scout body known as the service unit. Inquire with your troop co-leader and/or service unit manager to get the conversation started.

  • Contributing Payments 

    Credit Card contributing payments can be made through your MyGS account after approval and registration order has been completed by council.

    Check or Dakota Dough contributing payments can be mailed with a copy of the scholarship request or paper registration form to:

  • An email including a copy of the scholarship form will be sent to the email address of the person submitting the form. 

    Upon review of your application, you will receive an email notifying you of an approval or decline. Please allow 7-10 days for notification.
