Terms and Conditions:
The following agreement outlines the terms and conditions of hiring an instrument from Concordia Lutheran College for a non-compulsory program. Please read the conditions carefully and complete the relevant information. Once payment has been completed and the Hire Agreement Signed and returned, students are able to arrange the collection of instruments from the Coordinator of Music Performance.
The following conditions apply to all students using an instrument hired from the College.
- The student must be having lessons through the College to hire an instrument.
- The student hiring a College instrument will need to participate in co-curricular ensembles if capable.
- The maximum rental period for a College instrument is one school year unless granted special circumstances at the discretion of the Coordinator of Music Performance.
- Parents must sign the “Musical Instrument Hire Agreement Contract” as College owned instruments are hired by parents, AND students. As such, the care of the instruments is the responsibility of both parents and students for the duration of the agreement.
- The instrument should only be used by the person it is being hired for to avoid any accidental damage.
- The instrument should be transported safely in the provided case to and from the College and always be stored safely in its case other than when being used.
- The instrument must only be stored at the College on the days that it is required (for lessons, band or performances)
Instrumental teachers will provide general advice to students on the care of the instrument throughout their lessons.
- All instruments and equipment remain the property of Concordia Lutheran College and therefore all instruments needing repair must be returned to the Coordinator of Music Performance for the appropriate arrangements to be made.
- Any cost for damage including accidental damage (eg. Curious siblings or due to dropping) and subsequent repair of a hire instrument will be assumed by the parent and you will be invoiced accordingly.
- If the instrument is discovered to be missing/unaccounted for during the loan agreement period or is not returned at the end of the agreement, the family is responsible for the replacement.
- It is suggested to parents to adequately insure hired instruments as any loss or damage, whether accidental or through neglect, is the responsibility of the hirer. Usually this can be done through your House Contents Insurance.
The instrument will be inspected at the end of the rental period with the expectation that it is in good working condition and repairs for anything other than reasonable wear and tear will be charged to the hirer.
