Administration Procedures
If we believe a pupil may benefit from a dose of Calpol (paracetamol suspension) to help them remain in school, our Welfare Officer will contact the parent or carer to confirm that no pain relief (paracetamol) was given before school. Written permission from the parent or carer must also be on file before we proceed.
If no pain relief has been given within the past four hours, and we have consent, the school will administer one dose of Calpol (paracetamol suspension) during the school day.
If we are unable to reach the parent or carer to confirm whether pain relief was given before school, we will not administer Calpol (paracetamol suspension).
If pain relief was administered before school, we will wait until four hours have passed before giving another dose of Calpol (paracetamol suspension).
