UTILIZATION OF THE POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE OF DELAWARE, INC.

All groups must complete an application form, which can be obtained from the Hockessin or Garfield Park PAL offices. The completed written application is to be submitted to the facility that you wish to use as early as possible. Building usage is on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend submitting the application four to six months prior to your event. Upon the submission of the application, a 50% non-refundable deposit must be made to reserve the date/s of the event along with a $500 security deposit. The final balance should be paid at least two weeks before the event.

NO SMOKING PAL of DE is a smoke free campus.

NO DRUGS are permitted in the building (other than those prescribed by a physician)

NO ALCOHOL unless permitted in writing as a special exception per event and signed by a PAL administrative leader. If alcohol is approved, a permit from D.A.T.E must be filled out, approved, and submitted to the PAL of Delaware.

NO PETS with the exception of service or therapy animals with approved paperwork. ATTENDANCE capacity is limited by the Delaware State Fire Marshall's limitations.

NO FOOD we will have our concession stand open, if you would like specific things sold, we will work with you. You will not be able to sell your own concessions. Pre-authorization is required by PAL staff for any food potentially being brought into the building.

USAGE

The primary purpose of the Police Athletic League of Delaware facility is for youth between the ages of 5-18. PAL programs are supported through grant funding. Primary use of the building is to ensure the compliance with our grant requirements. This includes no adults in the building other than approved workers/volunteers. The Police Athletic League of Delaware reserves the right to revoke any decision granting usage to a particular group in the event the Police Athletic League needs to use the facility. The Police Athletic League of Delaware may be rented for non-denominational activities to civic organizations or community-based groups if times do not conflict with the primary purpose of the building. When renting from the PAL of DE you are just renting space. All tables, chairs, equipment, supplies, etc. are the responsibility of the renter. Any and all carry-in items must be REMOVED IMMEDIATELY following the event. If the event falls on a weekend, and the organization that supplies tables, chairs, etc. can't pick up these items immediately after the event, arrangements must be made to have them stored and picked up as soon as possible. The PAL is not responsible for items/equipment that is left over after the event. If the renter uses the facility, or leaves items/equipment, without consulting with PAL of DE, before or after the time reserved for the event, additional charges will be assessed.

Cleaning of the PAL of DE facility (inside and outside) after the schedule event is required by the renting party. Failure to do SO will result in the activation of the security deposit. PAL of DE requires a certificate of liability form for all rentals. Proof of liability forms can be obtained from the renter's insurance company. This is required for all events.

NO TAPE IS TO BE USED ON THE GYM FLOOR, WALLS, OR DOORS unless authorized by PAL staff. Failure to do SO will result in the activation of the security deposit.

DO NOT PROP OPEN ANY INTERIOR OF EXTERIOR DOORS.

The PAL office and conference room at the Hockessin PAL CAN NOT be rented and is for PAL

Staff only. PAL office supplies, copier, fax machine, etc. can not be used by the renter. Any office supplies required for the event are the renter's responsibility. Some events held at either PAL facility require police officer supervision. Events with 50+ people will require police presence from New Castle County Police Department. If police are in fact needed for your event, please ask for additional paperwork to see the requirements. The NCCPD document is to be filled out and turned in with this contract.

In consideration of the grant of permission to the organization or individual named about by the Police Athletic League of Delaware, Inc., for use of a Police Athletic League of Delaware's facility, the undersigned being duly authorized officer or representative hereby agrees for and on behalf of themselves and their organization and for and on behalf of the individual members thereof do release the said Police Athletic League of Delaware and their Director, Officers, agents, employees, volunteers and representatives of and from any and all claims for liability including claims for personal injuries, death and property damage which may arise from or during the use of said facility, and do further agree to defend, indemnify and save harmless the employees, volunteers and representatives from any and all such claims including the cost of defense of any claim, including attorney fees. I/We the undersigned have read and understand this release agreement and agree to comply with the rules and regulations applying to the use of the Police Athletic League of Delaware's facility.

APPLICATION FOR USE OF PAL FACILITY

This form is to be completed and submitted with a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total rental cost for the application to be accepted. You will receive an invoice to the email provided for 50% of the total cost of the rental due to hold your date. The remaining balance must be received ONE WEEK prior to the event. If an event is cancelled within one week of the rental date, PAL of DE reserves the right to keep the rental deposit. Rental of a PAL of DE facility also requires a security deposit of $500. This payment will be returned to the renting party if the PAL facility is returned to PAL of DE staff the same way it was found prior to the rental. This includes damage /trash found inside or outside of the facility as well as the parking lot.
