I EXPRESSLY AGREE AND UNDERSTAND THAT, IF EMPLOYED, MY EMPLOYMENT IS NOT FOR A SPECIFICTERM, IS BASED ON MUTUAL CONSENT, AND MAY BE TERMINATED BY ME OR THE COMPANY WITH ORWITHOUT NOTICE OR CAUSE AT ANY TIME. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT NO ORAL PROMISE, EMPLOYERPOLICY, CUSTOM, BUSINESS PRACTICE, OR OTHER PROCEDURE (INCLUDING THE BASIC EMPLOYMENTPOLICIES, PERSONNEL HANDBOOK, OR ANY PERSONNEL MANUALS) CONSTITUTES AN EMPLOYMENTCONTRACT OR MODIFICATION OF THE AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ME AND CALIFORNIACUSTOM FRUITS & FLAVORS.
I understand that I may be required to qualify for employment based on additional employment criteria. For example, Imay be required to take job-related tests; take a driver's examination, or take a pre-employment drug test. If I am offeredemployment or start work before any required test is completed, I understand that my employment is contingent on asatisfactory result on all required tests.
Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Test Policy and Procedure
Under the rights granted by California Employment Law and Indiana State Law, California Custom Fruits and Flavors shall drug test and conduct a comprehensive background check of all prospective employees. Any offer of employment is contingent upon a thorough review of the results from the background check and drug test. Background checks include:
- Social Security Verification: validates the applicant's Social Security number, date of birth, and former addresses.
- Prior Employment Verification: confirms applicant's employment with the listed companies, including dates of employment, position(s) held, and additional information available pertaining to performance rating, the reason for departure, and eligibility for rehire.
- Personal and Professional References: calls will be placed to individuals listed as references by the applicant.
- Criminal History: includes a review of criminal convictions and probation. Thefollowing factors will be considered for applicants with a criminal history:
- The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.
- The time since the conviction.
- The number of convictions.
- If hiring the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees, or its customers and vendors.
If an applicant begins employment before the background check or drug test results are available, California Custom Fruits and Flavors reserves the right to immediately terminate employment with the applicant/employee based on its review of the results received with no consequence to the company nor indemnity afforded the applicant/employee.
