  • Volunteering for 1:1 Tutoring Sessions

  • Can you tutor in-person or virtually?*
  • Please note: The City Tutors does not have its own in-person tutoring location. Instead, we partner with various programs across NYC where tutors work directly with students. While in-person tutoring is an option, we cannot guarantee placement as site availability is limited and subject to capacity. Virtual tutoring remains available as a flexible alternative. If you can work with students virtually and in-person, you will get matched with a student online while we connect you with a student in-person

  • If you would like to work with a site in-person, select the site(s) below:
  • If you selected an in-person location, we'll let you know which site has availability

  • Volunteering for Drop In Hour

  • Would you like to volunteer for one-on-one tutoring on one of these days?
  • Would you like to sign up for these sessions on a recurring basis (e.g., every week on the selected day(s))? Note: If you select yes for the this question, then you will be added to every recurring Drop In Hour on the day you selected. You will only need to fill out the Jotform to request 1:1 tutoring outside of the Drop In Hour.
  • If you're a new volunteer, we’d love to connect with you for a 15-30 minute onboarding session to ensure everything is set up and to answer any outstanding questions you might have. While it’s not required to get started, we’re here to help and would love to meet you!
