AWARD CATEGORIES & CRITERIA
EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION LEADERSHIP AWARD:
Nominate a member whose ideas and leadership have dramatically impacted the industry. Specific examples must be provided that show their excellence in leadership through any of the following ways: improved growth, cost savings, efficiency, development of new services/processes for the company, association, or community they serve, and/or dedication to the industry. Nominees can be an individual manager, HOA board member, or business partner (individuals only).
2023 Manager Winner: Chelsi Rueter, Community Property Management
2023 Business Partner Winner: Steve Reich, Steve D. Reich Insurance Agency, Inc.
COMMITTEE OF THE YEAR AWARD:
The CHAPTER committee who worked together as a team, completing their assignments in an exceptional manner, to the benefit of the chapter. Chapter Committees: Awards, Bingo & Brews, Central Coast, Channels of Communication Magazine, CLAC (Legislative Support Committee), Community Faires, Holiday Happy Hour, Hospitality, Luncheon Programs, Social Media, and Webinar Programs.
2023 Winner: Bingo & Brews chaired by Graelin Myers, Community Property Mgmt.
SPEAKER(S) OF THE YEAR:
Presented to the speaker(s) of a chapter program in which they presented exceptionally well and their program exemplified the primary goal of CAI-quality education to our members. (See full list of programs below-can nominate one or both speakers on a progarm)
2023 Winner: "The Devil's Advocate" by Sean Allen, Esq. & Lisa Tashjian, Esq.
WILLIAM S. DUNLEVY, ESQ., AUTHOR OF THE YEAR AWARD:
A person who has provided exceptional written material for the chapter, especially in multiple submissions. This award is named for the newsletter editor of the Chapter for many years and a multiple year "author of the year" award winner.
2023 Winner: "Going Rogue" by Jeff Beaumont, Esq., Beaumont Tashjian
DIANE DORIA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
A member who has given outstanding service during the calendar year. This award was named after Diane Doria who dedicated much time and service to the chapter as a member, board member, and Chapter President.
2023 Winner: Deanna Higuera, First Onsite Property Restoration
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:
A member who demonstrates outstanding service and continued dedication to the chapter through substantial contributions to the growth and continuation of the Chapter over a period of years. **Since this award is for a person who works diligently in the Chapter for several years; thus, it is the intent that the same person could not win the award in multiple years (THREE YEAR WAIT)

CHAPTER SPIRIT AWARD:
This award is to recognize those members that take their support of the chapter to the next level, always promoting the chapter to industry colleagues, providing an encouraging voice on chapter committees, volunteering at chapter events, and encouraging prospective members to join. A member who spreads CAI cheer throughout our industry.
2023 Winner: Phyllis Pazen, Lakeside Village Association
COMPANY SPOTLIGHT AWARD:
Presented to a business partner or management company member that has impacted the industry by going above and beyond through chapter participation, industry involvement, and community outreach. Specific examples are required.
