    At Motor City Sitters, we understand that special events like weddings and celebrations often require extra attention for your little guests. We are dedicated to ensuring that your event goes smoothly by offering professional, high-quality childcare services to give you peace of mind. Our team of vetted sitters will keep children entertained, engaged, and safe, so the adults can enjoy the event without worry.

    Services Overview

    On-Site Childcare:

    • We provide on-site childcare at weddings, corporate events, parties, and more. Our sitters are experienced in handling a range of age groups and are equipped to ensure a fun and safe environment for all children.

    Sitter to Child Ratio 

    • To ensure optimal care and supervision, we require a minimum ratio of one sitter for every five children.

    Activities

    • Depending on the event and desire of the client, we bring age-appropriate activities and materials for the children, including books, small crafts, and toys, ensuring they are engaged during the event.

    Hourly Rates

    • Our hourly rate is $50 per hour per sitter.

    Meals for Sitters

    • If the booking lasts more than two hours, and the event is after 4:00 PM, the client is required to provide a meal for the sitters if meals are served at the event.

    Parking

    • Clients are responsible for covering any parking costs for all sitters attending the event.

    Additional Fees

    • For events outside of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties there will be a $10 travel fee added for each sitter. 
    • In the event sitters are asked to travel outside of the state or more than 100 miles, travel accommodations (lodging, meals, plane tickets, etc) will be the responsibility of the client. 
    • While tipping is not required, if a client feels a sitter or the coordinator does an exceptional job, tips are allowed to be accepted. 

    Booking Process

    Placement Fee

    The placement fee structured is per event date and is outlined below.

    • This fee is due at the time of contract signing and covers the coordination and placement of sitters for your event. 

    Fee Structure

    • 1-10 children: $200
    • 11–20 children: $300
    • 21–30 children: $400
    • 31+ children: $700

    Events booked with less than 5 days notice will incurr an additional $100 convenience fee at the time of booking

    Payment Options

    • Clients can either pay sitters directly at the end of the event or pay the total amount in advance with an additional $10 per sitter per date fee, and Motor City Sitters will handle the sitter payments.
      • Changes: Changes made to the booking such as hours and numbers of children after the initial booking is confirmed and contract signed, will incur an additional fee. No refunds for shrinking care numbers or hours will be administered once a contract is signed. 

    Additional Care Option

    • Personal Sitters: For guests who would like to book their own sitter off site we can set up a private booking link for the client. This allows guests to book a private sitter in their home, rental, or hotel for the duration of the event. They will be responsible for the placement fee and hourly rate for their booking.
      • There is a non-refundable service fee of $75 for setting up the link for the event.  

    Cancellation Policy

    • 7+ Days Before Event: If canceled 7 or more days before the event, only the placement fee is retained.
    • Less than 7 Days Before Event: If canceled less than 7 days but more than 48 hours before the event, 100% of the placement fee and 50% of the total estimated sitter rate will be charged.
    • 48 Hours or Less: If canceled less than 48 hours before the event, 100% of the placement fee and sitters rate will be charged as well as a $100 per sitter cancellation fee.

    Q: What does the placement fee cover?

    A: The placement fee starts at $200 and covers the coordination, vetting, and placement of sitters for your event. The exact fee is determined based on the date, time, and number of children attending. This fee is non-refundable and payable at the time of booking.

    Q: How do I know how many sitters I will need?

    A: We require one sitter for every five children attending the event. This ensures each child receives proper supervision and care. If you would like more than one sitter per five children, we can also accommodate that. 

    Q: What activities will the agency provide for the children?

    A: We bring a small selection of age-appropriate activities, including books, small crafts, and games, ensuring the children are engaged and entertained throughout the event.

    Q: How do I pay the sitters?

    A: You can either pay the sitters directly at the end of the event or make the full payment to Motor City Sitters up to 24 hours before the event, and we will pay the sitters on your behalf for an additional fee.

    Q: Is parking for sitters included in the cost?

    A: No, the client is responsible for covering the parking costs for sitters attending the event. Arrangements should be confirmed before the event.

    Q: What will your sitters be wearing? 

    A: For formal events and weddings, we require our sitters to wear black non-athletic bottoms and black agency t-shirts. For less formal events we require our sitters to wear jeans or non-athletic bottoms with agency tees. If you would like the sitters to wear something different or specific, we are able to arrange this as well. Please note that it may incurr an additioanl charge for out of the ordinary uniform request. 


    Q: Can we get the sitters' contact information for future events?

    A: After and during your event, sitters introduced to you by Motor City Sitters may not be hired directly by you or your guest for future childcare services unless arranged through the agency. This clause is in effect for 24 months after your event.
