The Kept Rat Rattery Waiting List Expectations

Before joining our waiting list, please carefully read the following expectations:

First-Time Adopters: If this is your first time adopting rats, you must adopt at least two.
Non-Refundable Waiting List Fee: A non-refundable fee (25% of the total adoption cost) is required to join the waiting list. This fee can be applied to a future litter if needed.
Contact and Response: You will be contacted via text based on your position in line when available rats match your request. You must respond within 12 hours. After that time, you may miss your chance for the first pick, and we will move on to the next person in line.
Detailed Requests: The more specific your request, the longer it may take to match you with available rats. Please keep this in mind as it can affect your waiting time.
Breeder's Holdbacks: The Kept Rat Rattery will always have the first pick of any litter. Waiting list picks will begin after our holdbacks are selected.
Age for Reservations: Rats become available for waiting list reservations when they are 3 weeks old. If you miss your opportunity, you will be moved down in line for the next litter.
Payment Structure:
- 25% waiting list fee due upfront (non-refundable but transferable to a future litter).
- An additional 25% due upon accepting your pick.
- The final 50% is due at pickup.
- The waiting list and reservation fees are non-refundable.
Missed Opportunities: If you miss your window to respond or select, you will be moved down in line for first pick of the next available litter matching your needs.
Refund Policy: In the event something happens to your selected rat prior to pickup, you may choose to have the 25% reservation fee refunded or apply it toward the next qualifying litter.

Please acknowledge these expectations before filling out the waiting list form to ensure a smooth adoption process. The below prices reflect the waiting list fee only.

The total cost of adoption of each rat is listed as follows. Any waiting list or reservation fee goes towards the total cost of adoption.

Standard Male & Female Rats - $25/each
Dwarf Male & Female Rats - $75/each

Gender & Size of Rats (Check ONE). Check the additional box if you would like more than one. Please keep in mind that anything listed as "additional" may come from a future litter, if enough is not available. Because there are previous babies adopted, this is fine. Your name will be added towards the top of the next available litter for requests that fit your specific needs. IF you are a PREVIOUS adopter, please use whichever option fits your current needs.
