Asking Interns for Support

We require all Data Analytics Interns, Digital Research Interns, and Community Engagement Interns to pay a $24 monthly fee to help us cover our costs.

That comes out to just about 80 cents per day. Our international interns all agreed that the benefits of adding American work experience to your resume and thereby improving your employment prospects make that a great bargain. We trust that you will agree. 

We plan to increase that amount in the very near future, but we will not increase your fees after you begin.  

 

Procedure

Your first payment is due when we accept you, and then on each month's anniversary of your offer letter.

If we accept you for an internship, we will direct you to a page where you can make those contributions online.

We are in the process of setting up automatic recurring payments.
 

Tax-Deductible?

BTW, this monthly payment is not tax-deductible. That is probably moot, since only about 17% of American taxpayers itemize their deductions, and the contribution is so low as to make the deduction irrelevant to most students.

Some students are most interested in certain of these three internships. Please indicate your preferences below, and we will try to accommodate your first choice. If you favor two or more equally, you can choose more than one in any of the three fields below. If there are any you are not interested in, just exclude it. Only the first of the three questions is required.

Use a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being Expert.

A few applicants have exaggerated their skills. Do not do that. When we discover someone exaggerated their skills, we automatically reject their application. Honesty is more important than any particular tech skill.

These three internships each require at least 4 hours per week, and you can work whenever is convenient for you. You can work more hours if you wish, whether to further improve your resume, gain experience, or make a greater positive impact.
