  • 1. System --> Preview

    The majority of monitors supplied support 1080p but for whatever reason some systems are still set to 1024x768 which gives a sub-optimal quality picture.

    Try changing it to 1080p and see if the screen can support it. (Double check any secondary monitors to make sure they are still functioning after the resolution change).

  • 1. System --> Preview --> Advanced

    Turn on Sub Stream First for a performance boost.

  • 1. System --> Time

    Double check the Timezone, date and time are correct. If you need to alter the settings, you will need to Untick the Enable NTP feature and click Apply first.

    Then once you've done that Tick the Enable NTP feature again and Apply it.

    There should be no internet access for these machines but as of November 2024, nz.pool.ntp.org is working, and their internal NTP server is not. This may change.

    If the NVR reverts to 2014 after powerup, the CMOS battery has failed and needs to be replaced - this isn't a straightforward procedure but it's urgent because the system does not record or function when set to 2014!

  • 2. Storage --> Recording

    The schedule for ALL CAMERAS should be:

    Monday - Saturday has MOTION between 00:00 and 07:00
    Monday - Saturday has NORMAL between 07:00 and 18:00

  • 2. Storage --> Hard Disk

    Confirm that Total Storage listed matches the value in the box below.

    If the storage on the system is LESS than what we have on record, physically inspect the NVR - is there a faulty HDD not showing up?

    Confirm that there are 2 or more HDD's in the system. If in doubt contact our office on 0800 93 63 63

    Otherwise if the below value is inaccurate, enter the correct total (in TB)

  • Image field 58
  • 3. Alarm --> Motion

    Verify there is a motion grid on each camera!

    (There is a firmware bug where cameras drop their grid and sensitivity goes to 0%)

    Make sure sensitivity is not at 0% or 98%. Should be between 75 and 90% on average

     If public traffic is causing excessive motion on outdoor cameras, rub it out on the grid!

  • Image field 65
  • 4. Camera --> Encoding

    Check that the Bitrate is not ridiculously high.

    Common Bitrates:
    1920x1080 = 2048
    2048x1536 = 3072
    2688x1520 = 4096

    Make sure Frame Rate is no higher than 12.

    Change Stream from Normal to Event and confirm the settings match.

    If you see U-Code enabled don't change it -it's site specific.
