A Certificate of Liability Insurance is often requested by locations who are hosting Girl Scout events (such as troop meetings). The Certificate of Liability Insurance includes types of coverage, insurance company information, policy numbers, policy dates and dollar amount, and the name and address of the organization requesting a copy.
Our insurance year aligns with the Girl Scout membership year - October 1 to September 30. The insurance company will not issue a certificate for a future insurance year. For example, if your troop starts meeting in August 2024, two certificates will be issued. The first will be issued in August for the Oct. 1, 2023-Oct. 1, 2024 insurance year. The second will be issued on October 2nd/3rd for the Oct. 1, 2024-Oct. 1, 2025 insurance year.
The certificate will be e-mailed to the Girl Scout Volunteer/Staff Member who submits the request. It will be that person's responsibility to forward the certificate to the location who is requesting. Please allow 72 business hours for processing.
