  • SYNOPSIS

    The classic rags to riches story! Cinderella lives a life of drudgery, bullied by her horrible Ugly sisters, Salmonella and Listeria. Her muddled and confused father, Baron Hardup is powerless to intervene (he's more scared of them than she is!) and her only comfort is her pal Buttons! Prince Charming is holding a ball to meet his bride to be. Can this be the chance that Cinders has been waiting for? Despite the best efforts of her two malicious Ugly Sisters, Cinderella shall go to the ball with the help of her Magical Fairy Godmother!

     

    CHARACTER LIST:  Adults and Children of all ages, genders, abilities, backgrounds and ethnicities.

    CINDERELLA – Young. Female. Our heroine.  Kind-hearted and long suffering.

     

    PRINCE CHARMING – Young. Male/ Female. Principal ‘boy’. A dashing fellow.  Heir to the throne.

     

    BUTTONS – Age, Open. Male/Female. Clever, quick-witted and fast talking. In love with Cinderella

     

    LISTERIA – Age, open. Male, (Dame). Stepsister to Cinders and a thoroughly nasty piece of work.

     

    SALMONELLA – Age, open. Male, (Dame).  The second Stepsister to Cinders and equally nasty!

     

    FAIRY GODMOTHER – Age, open. Female, A kind-hearted and all powerful sprite.

     

    BARON HARDUP – Older. Male. Father to Cinderella. A rather confused, muddled character.

     

    DANDINI – Age, Open. Male/Female. Aide and confidante to Prince Charming.

     

    MAJOR DOMO – Age, Open. Male. Palace official.  A pompous and rather foolish fellow.

    CHORUS OF TOWNSFOLK, ANIMALS, GUESTS AT THE BALL, SERVANTS, AND A CAMEO MONSTER – Ages open. Male and Female.

      

    Founded in 2023, Reservoir Frogs Theatre Company is a community theatre group located in The Gap, Brisbane. Our aim is to foster new talent and provide and promote theatre in our local area and surrounding suburbs.

    • AUDITION DETAILS

      Auditions will be held on Saturday 19th October 2024 in one-hour long slots at The Gap RSL Hall (Cnr. Waterworks Road and School Road, The Gap)

      Each audition will be in groups of up to 10 people.

      Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your audition timeslot

      There are opportunities for adults and children of all ages, genders, abilities, backgrounds and ethnicities.

      REGISTRATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL.

      Callbacks may be required on Sunday 20th October

      This is an unpaid opportunity.

       

      AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

      Please prepare a short song of approximately 1 minute, in the style of musical theatre or children’s show.

      Accompaniment can be a backing track on a device with Bluetooth capability, usb, or sung acapella. 

      You may be asked to participate in a short dance routine, so please wear comfortable clothing.

      There will be cold reads from the script.

       

      REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SEASON

      REHEARSALS will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings from either 6pm or 7pm to – 10pm (adjustments will be made for any children / youth participants) and Sundays from 10am – 3pm

      Rehearsals begin Tuesday 22nd October

      PRODUCTION WEEK will be from Sunday 1st to Thursday 5th December inclusive. Sunday daytime, Monday to Thursday night.

      The PRODUCTION SEASON will run from Friday December 6th to Sunday December 15th on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Friday evenings. Saturday and Sunday daytime shows, with a possible Saturday evening show.

      All rehearsals and performances will be in The Gap area.

      Everyone must be available for production week and the performance dates.

      Everyone must be available for most if not all the rehearsals. There will be some flexibility depending on which role you are successful in securing.

      If you are successful in securing a role in the production, you will be required to become a member of the theatre company. Membership is yearly at Adult $20 / Concession $15 and Youth $10
