LIFTING SCHEDULE

Due to the uncertainty with number of competitors for this championship the lifting schedule will not be released until after the entry deadline. Until then, we are unable to make any predictions on what day you will compete.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all CPU Para, Special Olympics, Youth 3, Sub-Junior, Junior, Open, and Master registrants in good standing that have met their Provincial, Regional and CPU requirements.

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET ACHIEVED YOUR QUALIFYING TOTAL BEFORE THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE BUT HAVE A COMPETITION PLANNED WHERE YOU WILL BE ACHIEVING THIS TOTAL: PLEASE ENTER N/A FOR THE TOTAL AND THE DATE OF THE FUTURE COMPETITION. ONCE THE MEET IS COMPLETE, PLEASE SEND US AN UPDATE FOR YOUR TOTAL.

If you fail to achieve the qualifying total at that event and it is after the entry deadline (December 1, 2024), you will not be eligible for a refund.

There will be a closing banquet on the last evening of the championships. Additional information will be emailed out about purchasing banquet tickets.

PLEASE READ

- You acknowledge that by providing payment for your registration fee for the 2025 CPU National Championships, there will be no refunds provided after the entry deadline has passed.

-Your CPU membership must be current at the time of registration.

-Picture ID along with a copy of your CPU membership card, and a copy of your valid CCES certificate will need to be presented to the weigh-in official. If you do not have a picture ID you will not be permitted to compete, youth lifters are exempt from this.

-At CPU National and Regional Championships, the IPF rule of no weight or age class changes within 21 days of the event will be observed. This rule does not apply to Youth, Para, and Special Olympic Athletes.

-Warm Up Area is only for lifters and their coach(es)/handler(s).

-Coaching will be limited to one (1) coach/handler per unequipped lifter and two (2) coaches/handlers per equipped lifter. No exceptions.

-Coaches/handlers must wear athletic apparel while coaching or handling athletes. This includes athletic attire and close-toed athletic shoes. Hats, sleeveless tops, and any attire that is unclean, torn or is in anyway deemed to be inappropriate by CPU officials are strictly forbidden.

-All lifters must use collars or clips when warming up.

-This is a drug-tested competition. Once a lifter has purchased a CPU membership, they accept the CADP drug-testing procedure IN FULL.

Qualifying Total

Note that you must have achieved your qualifying total in the last 24 months prior to the event.

If you do not yet have your qualifying total you may enter, but must achieve the total prior to the event. If you enter and then fail to achieve your qualifying total, you will not be allowed to compete and you will not be eligible for a refund. You must email the meet directors at truenorthstrongproductions@gmail.com when you have achieved your qualifying total.

Relevant CPU Policies

17.2 All registrants wishing to compete in regional or national championships must meet the qualifying totals 24 months prior to the date of the intended championships.

17.4 At CPU Regional and National Championships, athletes cannot change their entered age and weight class after 21 days before the contest starts. This policy is not applicable to Youth division athletes, Special Olympic or ParaPowerlifting athletes.

Disclosure and Participant’s Assumption of Risks

In consideration for permission granted by Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU) to participate in its CPU National Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships (the “Activities”) I, the undersigned, myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, hereby acknowledge and agree to waive any and all claims that I have or may in the future have against the Canadian Powerlifting Union, Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association, the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company, the City of Moose Jaw, the Province of Saskatchewan, Inner Strength Products, SBD Apparel Canada, True North Strong Productions, and any of its employees, organizers, volunteers and sponsors of this competition, (the “Releasees”) and to release the Releasees from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury including death, that I may suffer, or that my next of kin may suffer as a result of my participation in any Activities sponsored or organized by the Releasees, DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE OWED UNDER THE Occupiers' Liability Act, RSBC 1996 c. 37 on the part of the Releasees and also including the failure on the part of the Releasees to safeguard or protect me from the risks, dangers and hazards of participating in the activities. I realize that powerlifting is a high risk sport and that I could be injured. I certify that I am in good physical health and that I have no serious health problems and that I assume full responsibility for such conditions. I accept that I am fully responsible for my well-being and safety in the warm up room, on the lifting platform and while I am competing at this event. I am also aware that I am responsible for the actions of any coach and entourage that attends this competition in my support.
