2024 Holiday Giveaway

We are randomly selecting four teachers to win $250 in AdoptAClassroom.org funds PLUS a $100 gift card from each of these Marketplace Vendors:

Teachers must be registered with AdoptAClassroom.org, provide their classroom page link, and have logged in to their account on or after September 1, 2024. 

Along with the chance to win, we are giving AdoptAClassroom.org teachers step-by-step instructions on how to find and share your classroom fundraising page link as well as how to ask for donations during our Giving Tuesday Donation Match on December 3, 2024.

Log Into Your AdoptAClassroom.org Account

To enter this giveaway, you’ll need to copy your classroom page link. Start by logging into your AdoptAClassroom.org account and follow along with the next steps. If you don't have a login yet, this video will show you how to register and create a classroom page in under 5 minutes.

Let's Review Your Page And Make Some Updates.

The next few steps will walk you through how to review and update your page. You can also watch this video on How to Update Your Classroom Page.

Once you're logged in, click "Edit Profile Page" to review and update your page. 

Step 1 - Images! Donors Want To See You

Do you have a profile image?

• Your profile image should be of YOU (either a photo or a cartoon/memoji will work).

Do you have a banner image?

• Without a banner image your page looks unfinished and you miss a chance to connect with donors and show more about yourself, your students, your school, your classroom, and your needs.

Make sure all images are clear, well lit, and not blurry. Also consider replacing photos that look dated such as those that are obviously pandemic era with everyone in masks.

Step 2 - Double-Check Your Information

Is your name correct?

Is your school information correct?

Step 3 - Can Donors Find Your Page?

Is your page public or private?

Here's a video with additional information about public vs. private AdoptAClassroom.org pages. 

• If the box is checked, then potential donors will be able to find your page and donate to it from the AdoptAClassroom.org Fund a Teacher Page. 

• If the box is un-checked then only you, AdoptAClassroom.org staff, and anyone who the link has been shared with will be able to see your page. 

Step 4 - Double-Check Your Goal

Does your goal reflect that you still have needs, even if you’ve already received some donations?

Past donations show up on your page as funds raised for 18 months, even if you have already spent the funds, so take that into account and increase your goal as needed.

For example: If you've received $500 in the last year, but still need another $500 for this school year, update your goal to $1000.

Step 5 - Improve Your Description

Have you reviewed and edited your description?

• Our pages don’t autosave, so if you are writing a new description, we recommend doing it in a word processing program that does, and then pasting the text into your page.
• Here are some tips on how to tell your teaching story. 
• Remove any outdated references to past school years (Example: #BackToSchool2022) or anything else that makes it seem like your page isn’t current (Examples: lockdown, e-learning, etc.)
• Break up long blocks of text to make it easier to read and keep it short for busy donors.
• Don't forget to click "Save" when you are done.

Practice Sharing Your Page

This step is optional, but recommended!

Start a social media post or text message. Copy and paste the following or get creative and write your own:

Giving Tuesday is December 3rd and it is the perfect time to make a tax deductible end of year donation to my classroom through AdoptAClassroom because they are DOUBLING your donation (up to $100). This helps me provide twice as many supplies for my students.

Fill out the form above including your contact information and the required questions. Be sure to use the email address associated with your AdoptAClassroom.org account. You’ll also need to have a classroom page on AdoptAClassroom.org and have logged in on or after September 1, 2024 to be eligible to win.

PRIZES:

We will randomly select four Prize Winners who will each be awarded: 

One $250 donation to their AdoptAClassroom.org Classroom Page 
One $100 electronic gift card to Becker’s School Supplies
One $100 electronic gift card to Lakeshore Learning Materials
One $100 electronic gift card to Lee & Low Books

Prizes cannot be combined or substituted.

*Please note that the vendor e-gift card prizes are valid for each vendor’s website only and cannot be combined with AdoptAClassroom.org funds on the AdoptAClassroom.org Marketplace.

The Prize consists of only the items listed and AdoptAClassroom.org shall not be responsible for any fees, costs, or taxes arising out of or in connection with Winner’s use of Prize. Prize is non-transferable, and no substitution, assignment or refund of a prize is permitted, except by AdoptAClassroom.org, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of greater or equal value, if a prize is not available for any reason as determined by AdoptAClassroom.org in its sole discretion. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES:

Participation in the 2024 Holiday Giveaway constitutes an entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules, which are final and binding. Winning a Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

PROMOTION PERIOD:

The 2024 Holiday Giveaway runs beginning on November 4th at 12 AM EST and ending on December 4th at 11:59 PM EST. Entries received before the period start time or after the period end time will not be considered.

ELIGIBILITY:

Participants must be a PreK-12 teacher at an accredited PreK-12 public, private or charter school and a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia and at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Participation is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Teachers must have a classroom fundraising page on AdoptAClassroom.org and must have logged in within the last 60 days of the giveaway deadline to be eligible to win. The page does not need to be public.

WINNER SELECTION:

A random drawing will be conducted on or about November 5, 2024 from all eligible entries received to select four Potential Winners. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. Potential Winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to accept the Prize.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POTENTIAL WINNERS:

AdoptAClassroom.org will notify Potential Winners by emailing them at the email address they used to register with AdoptAClassroom.org. If a Potential Winner declines to accept the Prize, or if a Potential Winner is disqualified for any reason, including any violation of AdoptAClassroom.org’s Terms of Use, AdoptAClassroom.org will select an alternate Potential Winner based on a random drawing among all remaining eligible entries received. A Potential Winner is not a verified Winner until eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules has been confirmed.
