We are committed to providing you with a top-notch fashion education at Sew with SELF Academy, and in order to maintain a conducive learning environment for all, we are reinforcing our Attendance and Punctuality Policy. Please carefully review the updated policy below.
Punctuality:
- You must arrive on time for your scheduled classes.
- A 5-minute grace period will be allowed for late arrivals.
- Once the grace period has passed, the doors will be closed, and latecomers will not be permitted to attend the class.
Withdrawal Policy:
- If you miss 3 classes, you will be withdrawn from the Academy. This policy is in place to maintain the integrity of our programs and Academy, and to ensure that all students benefit from consistent instruction.
- We understand that circumstances may arise that prevent attendance. Therefore, we will make every effort to assist students who miss more than three classes by offering potential make-up options during Open Studio sessions or virtually. However, please note that make-up sessions are not guaranteed, and you are strongly encouraged to attend class each week to stay on track.
Parking Considerations:
- We understand that finding parking may take time. Therefore, it is imperative that you plan accordingly and arrive early enough to ensure timely attendance.
Class Engagement:
- You are expected to bring all necessary materials, including (but not limited to) binders and assignments, to each class.
- Late arrivals disrupt the learning process for your co-members, your Fashion Instructor and the class as a whole.
Project Completion:
- Class projects should be completed during the allocated class time.
- Failure to finish projects within the given time may result in incomplete assignments.
Makeup Classes:
- In the event of a missed class due to tardiness, you may request a Makeup Class on your Portal. Your request must be approved by a Sew with SELF Representative.
- You may also catch up on missed material by attending Open Studio, if a Fashion Instructor is present.
Advanced Notification:
- If you anticipate missing a class, you can notify a Sew with SELF Representative via text at least 30 minutes in advance from your scheduled class time. This helps us better manage class dynamics and explore possible make-up options.
Policy Reminder:
- A 5-minute grace period is offered as a courtesy, and it is expected that you honor this by arriving to class 5 minutes early or on time.
Consequences for Non-Compliance:
- Students who consistenly violate the attendance and punctuality policy may be subject to academic counseling or other appropriate measures.
