  • RULES/INFO

    • Jackpot: $10 of entry fee goes towards overall jackpot. 60/30/10% payout to 1st-3rd place. Checks will be mailed to the rider 3-4 weeks after the show.
    • Green Horses can be any age but must have less than 2 years of show experience, and less than $100 in money earnings in any association.
    • Youth walk trot riders must have less than 2 years of show experience & no history of winning a blue ribbon in a cantering class. Walk trot riders cannot cross-enter any 3-gaited classes in any division. Horses may enter a canter class with a different rider.
    • ASTM Helmets must be worn in Hunter Seat Classes.
    • Western Hat or ASTM Helmet must be worn in Western classes.
    • Riders two handing in a shank will be placed below riders riding correctly.
    • Any aged horse can be ridden in a snaffle or bosal/hackamore.
    • Horses entered in Working Western Rail cannot enter in Western Pleasure classes, and vice versa. Any horse may enter Horsemanship classes.
    • Trail can be shown in hunter seat or western attire and tack
    • Showmanship can be shown in an english bridle or a halter and lead.
    • Casual (discipline appropriate) riding attire is acceptable
    • Judges have final say and ruling, AQHA Level 1 rules will apply for SHOWING and EQUIPMENT rules that are not already outlined above.
    • Proof of Negative Coggins required on grounds
    • Any horses/riders deemed unsafe in the arena or warm up areas may be asked by show management to leave the riding areas.
    • Absolutely NO dogs are allowed in riding arenas and must be leashed if in the barns.
    • Scratches will not be refunded once the show starts.
    • Riders may not sign up for a class at the gate, it must be done at office.

      If your barn has more than 5 total entries, please submit another form with remaining entries. The same horse can cross enter w/t w/t/c classes with a DIFFERENT rider. MT Youth Versatility classes must be filled out on a separate application (see website).

      Terms and Conditions

      By submitting this form, I hereby release and hold without blame for liability the MTSU Stock Horse Team, MTSU, TN Miller Coliseum, and all clinic instructors or their officers, directors, employees, representatives, volunteers, or participants in case of injury or theft incurred to me, my horse, or equipment during the Candy Corn Classic on November 16-17th. By submitting this form, I also confirm that my horse will have a current negative coggins test by November 16th.

      I understand that under Tennessee Law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury or death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to the Equine Activities Liability Protection Act.

      I understand that any disorderly conduct including severe disrespect to the show staff, fellow exhibitors, and spectators will not be tolerated. Show staff reserve the right to deem any disorderly conduct as unsafe and disruptive and will dismiss and escort any participant or spectator off of the premises with no refunds. Disorderly conduct includes any threatening behavior, refusing to obey an official order for safety purposes, creating a hazardous condition without legitimate purpose, or consistently and loudly using foul language toward other persons.Thank you for helping us keep the Candy Corn Classic family-friendly and enjoyable!
