Loudmouth is a Birmingham based theatre company that specialises in supporting schools around relationships and safeguarding issues.
We have been funded by Ofcom to develop and deliver a programme about media literacy for school years 6-8 in East Birmingham. The programme will be free to all eligible schools. The new programme will be created in the autumn term of 2024 and will take place in schools during 2025.
The programme will support children, young people, parents and teachers to feel more confident and safe online. There will be theatre in education sessions in schools, parent and staff sessions and online resources.
We want your help to develop this programme. We would like your views, as a professional who works with the target age range and issues in East Birmingham. on what content the programme should include.
So far our ideas for content include understanding how to spot fake news or knowing what happens to your data when you go online. We want to also look at how to behave respectfully online, especially to girls and women and to look at how parents and children can talk and help each other to be informed and safe online.
Please complete as much as you can in the survey below.
You can also sign up to get more information and register your interest in getting further involved in the research.
Thank you.
