Artist-in-Resident Opportunities

Please select up to 3 residency opportunities from the menu below for your application fee. 

If a site has multiple sessions (Spring, Summer, Fall), please select the one that is your preferred session. You will be considered for all of the same-site opportunities for the seasons you are available for. For example, if you select Summer Missoula Public Library and have also selected the Fall season in the question below, you will be considered for both opportunities. (This does not count towards your total of three sites).

Applications cost $30 to apply to up to 3 residency sites. Additional residency sites cost $10 to apply to. If the application fee presents a barrier to you, please contact program@openairmt.org

The following are essay questions to help us understand your practice and potential fit with a location. While the maximum word count is 500, there is no minimum. Shorter answers are acceptable. Clarity matters most.

For all mediums - please provide samples of mediums you anticipate working in during your residency. No files larger than 1 GB.

Visual Artists

Submit 5-10 images of your work in .png or jpeg.

NO PDFs for visual art, please.

Writers

Provide PDF samples of your work. 

3-5 poems, and/or max 5,000 words double spaced

Film

Pdf with 3-5 working links (and passcodes if necessary).

Suggested timestamps are appreciated.

For creatives submitting in other mediums

Provide 3-5 samples of your work to give us a sense of what you do.
