We are writing to express our concern regarding your decision to host an event for HinduAction, a far-right Hindu Supremacist organization. This group spreads misinformation about Muslims and promotes a hateful agenda that undermines democracy and fosters racial and religious discrimination. We urge you to reconsider your association with such hate groups.
HinduAction is part of a global movement known as Hindutva, which seeks to subjugate non-Hindu minorities, including Dalits, Adivasis, Christians, and Muslims. The origins of Hindutva can be traced back to the early 20th century, where it was influenced by European fascist ideologies, especially Nazism. Leaders like V.D. Savarkar, who was heavily inspired by the Nazi regime, sought to create a homogeneous Hindu state, often using violent means to achieve their goals. This movement has led to violent acts against these communities in India, including forced conversions and the destruction of places of worship.
Sadly, the influence of Hindutva has extended to the United States, including Maryland, where political figures have engaged with organizations linked to this ideology. It is troubling that a hotel would host such a group without conducting a thorough background check.
While we respect freedom of speech and assembly, we ask that you take responsibility for your venue's role in supporting hate movements. We hope you will reconsider hosting events for groups like HinduAction in the future.
