Friend, we are grateful for your love for our ministry and desire to volunteer with our ladies at The Mercy Seat. There are certain guidelines you should know and criteria that must be met prior to volunteering at The Mercy Seat. These guidelines and requirements are set in place for your safety, as well as the safety of our ladies.

We ask that you read and fill out this form in its entirety and sign. Your singnature is your agreeing to the rules and guidelines

VOLUNTEER RULES AND GUIDELINES:
1. You are never to give any of the clients money. Any items or gifts must be pre-approved by the Director.
2. When driving a client to an appointment, please go straight there and straight back to The Mercy Seat. Please make no other stops (unless approved prior by our Director).
3. You are not to have any type of medication, alcohol or nicotine on you, in your home, vehicle or property, when you are with a client.
4. NO secular music or television when a client is in your care. Only PG or Christian movies are allowed. If you question it, please don't
5. Please no cursing or wordly/negative talk or gossiping around our ladies.
6. If a client opens up and shares with you, that is great. You should feel honored because many don't, due to trust issues. Please do not tell anyone else other than staff their business. If they take the chance and trust you, please do not break that trust. We are in the healing business, not the breaking.
7. The client is not allowed to ever use your phone or even have access to it. Please keep it in your posession at all time.
8. Do not make phone calls for them to (boyfriend, children, friends, parents, NO ONE).
9. Do not give the clients your phone number. (Unless approved by the Director)
10. Do not search Social Media profiles or look up anyting for the clients. (Unless approved)
11. If you are transporting a client to a doctors office or the hospital, you must stay with them and make sure the client tells the medical staff that she is in a Substance Abuse Recovery Program. NO NARCOTICS!!!
12. If you are transporting a client to any other location, you are to be with them at all times. If they go to the bathroom please go with them and wait outside of the door.
13. Unless approved prior to outing, no eating out at restraunts, shopping at stores, going to your home or any place that was not planned.
14. If you are in recovery yourself, you must have at least two years clean and sober. This includes alcohol and marijuana.

The Mercy Seat is a Christ-Centered 12 month residential substance abuse recovery program for women. We are a non-profit and no-cost to our client program. Therefore, we depend on our Lord and our community for support us. Not only financially, but, also with volunteers to allow our program to be the best for our clients. There are many volunteer needs throughout our program and we pray that one is the perfect fit for you.

Please be aware, that this is Volunteer work, there is no payment monetarily. But we assure you that the gift you will receive through loving and encouraging our ladies far out weighs anything money can buy.
