A partnership with Access Path Productions, SRT’s Inclusive Young Company (iYC) is a holistic acting programme for young persons and adults between the ages of 16 – 35, who identify as d/Deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent. Both SRT and Access Path Productions as organisations believe in addressing the imbalance of accessibility to the arts.
iYC features professional masterclasses and mentorship led by international artist Grace Lee-Khoo and various guest facilitators, which will provide a platform for the development of your creative potential as an independent performer and theatre-maker.
Our key outcomes for this exciting programme include offering equality of learning and personal development for young persons, engaging the general public with performances that reflect the experiences of marginalised communities in Singapore, and deepening the wider conversation around access in the arts, and beyond.
Auditions are open on a rolling basis through the first month of the semester. Those with successful auditions after the semester has begun will join on the following Saturday.

What to Prepare for your Audition
Following your submission of this application form, SRT will reach out to discuss your audition. Audition content and format can be tailored according to your access requirements. Here are some examples of audition formats:
- Auditions can be conducted in-person, over Zoom, or via a video submission.
- Some auditionees may be asked to prepare two memorised speeches where you act as a different character in each speech (each a maximum of 1-2 minutes).
- For those for whom memorisation is difficult, you may be asked to prepare 2 speeches that you may read.
- If speech poses a challenge, we may recommend an in-person audition where the Lead Artist will chat and work with you to determine if the programme is suitable for you.
Things to Take Note Of
We will be looking out for:
- A variety of movement, so the character doesn’t sit or stand still for the whole scene but will use movement as key points
- Good use of facial expressions
- Good use of vocal expression
- Please dress appropriately, and if you are auditioning via Zoom or video, ensure that you are in front of a clean background. The audition is not just a chance to show us your talent, but to demonstrate professionalism as well.
- Not required: The usage of props, additional sound effects, and professional video equipment/editing
