Georgia Overdose Prevention is the creator of Georgia’s Medical Amnesty Law, Don’t Run – Call 911! Our law allows certain protections for the caller and the person overdosing during a medical emergency related to drugs or alcohol.
It is our mission to:
• Educate Georgians about Don’t Run – Call 911!
• Educate lay people on how to recognize and treat an overdose
• Distribute naloxone (the rescue medication for opioid overdoses) to people at
risk and their friends and family.
Over the past decade we have distributed over 145,000 naloxone rescue kits across Georgia resulting in over 11,000 overdose reversals that we know of. Your contribution will help us to continue this important work.
