New Mexico Aging Services is excited to announce the launch of an inspirting new project, Talk to Me: Conversations on Life, debuting on October 28 at the 2024 New Mexico Conference on Aging. This initiative will capture the wisdom, stories, and cherished moments shared between seniors and their loved ones in heartfelt, recorded conversations.
These dialogues, akin to oral histories, provide a unique opportunity to preserve personal legacies and strengthen intergenerational connections, ensuring that the voices of our elders continue to resonate for years to come.
If you cannot bring someone to interview you at the New Mexico Conference on Aging, there will be volunteers available that can conduct interviews. Below are sample questions to give you some expectations for the interview:
•What gives you hope?
•What is a favorite childhood memory?
•What is a hobby that you enjoy?
•What advice would you give a 45 year old today? A 25 year old?
•What are some of the biggest changes you've seen in the world since you were a kid?
•What activities or hobbies keep you physically active throughout your day?
•What has given you a sense of purpose throughout your life?
•Are there any traditions or practices you follow to relax or reflect?
•What foods have meaning or importance to you?
•How do you stay connected to your family and friends?
