    Seriously injured, entangled or sick seals need to be reported to New Jersey Marine Mammal Stranding Center at (609) 266-0538.

  • Harassment of seals by people is a violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. Violations need to be reported to local police or to the Sandy Hook Ranger Station (732) 872-5900. You may also contact NOAA Fisheries Law Enforcement at (800) 853-1964.

    Record Loud & Groups of People and Barking dogs when you view seals in stress or depart from haul out site. Record other human disturbances when you view them as too close to a seal haul out site.
