    • REGISTER ONLINE
       
      • Register online with a WI driver’s license or state ID through Wednesday, Oct 16.
      • Register in person after Oct 16, at your Early Voting site or at your polling place on Election Day. (Bring your WI driver’s license or state ID.)
      • If the address on file with the DMV does not match your current school address, update your address with the Wisconsin DMV online at the link provided on the MyVote Wisconsin registration website.
    • (If you are mailing the form, it must be postmarked by Wednesday October 16, 2024)
      • You will need to bring proof of residency in addition to the last 4 digits of your social security number. See below for those instructions.
      • Visit the City Clerk's office (1515 Strongs Avenue) to fill out and submit the WI Voter Registration form: M-F 7:30 am - 4 pm (up to 5 pm on Fri Nov 1).
      • Register during Early Voting (Oct 22 - Nov 3) or at the polls on Election Day (Nov 5).
      • You will need to bring proof of residency and the last 4 digits of your social security number (in addition to the Voter ID you will need to cast your ballot). See below for those instructions.

    • GET VOTER ID AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY 
      • UW-Stevens Point has a Voter ID Enrollment Verification Letter that qualifies as proof of residence for voter registration – as long as it lists your current, local (mailing) address.
      • Before registering, verify your address and, if necessary, update it to reflect your local address in accesSPoint.
      • Sign in with your UWSP Username and Password to access your Voter ID Enrollment Verification Letter and print it or save it to your smartphone to show at in-person registration.
    • Bring one of the following documents that shows your name and your local address for voter registration:
      • Lease
      • Current utility bill
      • Bank statement or credit card bill
      • Government check, paycheck, or other government document showing your name and address.
      • If you do not have a Wisconsin Driver's License, DOT-issued ID, Military ID or Passport, you will need a school-issued Voter ID Card which is different from your normal Student ID.
      • To get your school-issued Voter ID Card:
        • Visit UWSP’s PointCard Office (601 Division St - Isadore St entrance).
        • You must present your UWSP PointCard to receive the Student Voter ID.

      • Vote Early in the Day: The polls are open from 7am to 8pm
      If you are in line when the polls close, stay in line. Anyone in line must be allowed to vote by law.
      1. You have the right to vote from study abroad or out of state location in every election.
      2. Visit Vote from Abroad to vote from abroad or overseas and have your vote count in Wisconsin. Don't hesitate to use the chat icon at the bottom of their page for live help.
      3. Active-duty military and military families stationed anywhere in the US or abroad should visit FVAP.GOV to get your military ballot.
    • We do not recommend absentee or voting by mail-in ballot when Early Voting or Election Day voting at the polls is a possibility. Mail-in-ballots have very specific instructions and can be “spoiled” if not filled out correctly.

      • Be sure you fill out the inner envelope EXACTLY correctly.
      • Seal and sign the envelope.
      • You will need a witness who must put their information in the right place on the envelope.
      • Mail your ballot no later than Tuesday Oct 22 to give it time to arrive by election day.
