IASC Call for Cross-Cutting and Working Group Proposals 2025
The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is now accepting proposals for consideration for IASC funding in 2025.

The funding is provided by the five IASC Working Groups (WGs) (Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Marine, Social & Human, Terrestrial) and is aimed at encouraging and supporting science-led international programmes by offering opportunities for planning and coordination, and by facilitating communication and access to facilities.

Proposals can be submitted for:
- Cross-cutting Projects (relevant for two or more IASC Working Groups); or
- WG-specific Projects (relevant for only one IASC Working Group)
Detailed information for each project type, the evaluation criteria used and how to apply is available on the IASC website.

The application deadline is on 6 January 2025 at 13:00 GMT. Late or incomplete proposals will not be accepted.

Proposals will also be accepted from applicants who are not members of the IASC Working Groups.

However, all applicants must discuss their proposals before submission with the leadership or other members of the relevant IASC Working Groups.

Applicants are responsible for contacting the relevant IASC Working Groups as early as possible in the development phase of the proposal.

Maximum 400 words. IASC is committed to minimising the carbon footprint of its activities and within its funded projects. All projects seeking funding from IASC, therefore, are required to have a strategy in place to minimise their carbon footprint within their project activities; and identify any actions taken to minimise or counteract the environmental impact of the activity.

Part 4: Budget

- Travel costs: specify number of participants and indicate early career scientists
- Logistics support: provide detailed cost listing
Project activities can start at the earliest in April 2025 and must be completed within 12 months.
