DAILY CASH OUT INSTRUCTIONS
Count all the money, then separate the float and the cash sales. You should never leave the float short, so count out the float (check the top of the cash box for the amount) and anything left over is the cash sales.
Again, NEVER LEAVE THE FLOAT SHORT.
When returning money to the float, only use bags for full rolls of coin ($50 in toonies, $25 in loonies, $10 in quaters). If you do not have enough of a donomination to make a roll, leave the coin loose in the top of the box. Again, bags are only for full rolls of coins.
Try to minimize the amount of coin you put into the sales for the day.
Don't worry about making the quanities of denominations correct in the float, as long as the final amount in the float is correct.
Enter the cash sales into the first box below. The cash sales is the amount of money you have left over after you count out the float. Do not enter the number found on the report from the POS.
Total amount of cash tips goes into the second box.
Use the coin from tips for the float and cash out for bills in the tips.
Less coin in the daily deposit is the goal. Do not put more than $5 in change into the daily deposit.
Staff don't take cash tips on the night of. They are paid out on your pay cheque.
