  • 2025 APPLICATION FOR A SCHOLARSHIP OR BURSARY
    2nd Semester Bursaries Only

The College provides several forms of financial assistance to ANU students who will be residents at Burgmann College which include scholarships, bursaries and resident employment contracts. Full details for future residents' financial assistance are provided on the Burgmann College webpage https://burgmann.anu.edu.au/financial-fees/scholarships.

Bursaries and scholarships are funded largely from Burgmann College's endowment monies held in perpetuity in the ANU's Endowment for Excellence Fund. They are granted upon the recommendation of a Sub-committee of the College Council.

Applicants are selected from those who can demonstrate all three of the following categories:

    a) Academic merit

    b) Financial need

    c) Evidence of any kind of community service contribution either at a previous
education establishment, or with a charity organisation, a church etc

A personal contribution to the life at Burgmann is an important part of living at the College.

Bursaries and scholarships are in high demand and unfortunately it is not possible to assist every applicant. Also, while an application may be made for both a bursary and a scholarship using the forms provided, it is not possible to hold both concurrently. The Sub-committee reserves the right not to grant bursaries or scholarships where it is of the view that there is insufficient merit or need. The holding of a Scholarship or Bursary award is subject to satisfactory academic progress, financial need and ongoing contribution to college life. Where an applicant has applied for both a scholarship and a bursary, the Sub-committee will consider the scholarship first and, if that is unsuccessful it will then be passed for consideration for a bursary award.

All scholarships and bursaries generally take the form of a monetary reduction in term fees.

  • Burgmann Bursaries for 2025 (Up to 3 - 2nd Semester Only)

Bursaries are available for both new residents and continuing residents. The criteria for the award of bursaries is based on financial need, academic merit and contribution to College life with the primary weighting on financial need. The Sub-committee has the discretion to determine the amount of a bursary depending on the level of financial need. Funds are currently available for the awarding of up to 6 bursaries per annum of up to $7,000 each.

    Burgmann Scholarships for 2025 (Only 1 - 2nd Semester)

Scholarships are available for new residents at Burgmann College either undergraduate or postgraduate.
