• WINd Validation Questionnaire

    • Introduction
    • What is the purpose of this questionnaire?

The WINd project, co-funded by the European Union, addresses the workforce needs of the rapidly growing wind energy sector by providing training and re/upskilling opportunities to blue-collar workers transitioning from the electricity and offshore oil and gas sectors to the green energy industry.

This questionnaire aims to validate the identified skills, tasks, and competencies required for blue-collar workers transitioning from the oil and gas or energy sectors to the wind energy sector. Your participation will help validate and refine the skills and competencies needed for effective reskilling into the wind energy workforce.

      Who should participate?

This questionnaire is aimed at stakeholders in the wind energy sector, including employers, managers, technicians transitioning from oil and gas or energy industrial roles, training providers, policymakers, sectoral associations, and professional unions.

      How long does it take?

      Approximately 10 minutes.

    • Respondent profile
    • Section 1: Role profiles for reskilling pathways
    • Please review the following role profiles and rate their relevance to the wind energy sector. For each profile, rate the importance of the skills associated with the role, considering the potential for reskilling and transition into the wind sector.

      (1 = Not suitable, 5 = Highly suitable)

    • Please rate the importance of reskilling into the following specialized corrective maintenance roles within the wind sector:

      (1 = Not important, 5 = Highly important)

    • Section 2: Tasks
    • In this section, you are asked to validate the relevance of key tasks associated with each role. Please indicate how critical each task is for transitioning workers.

    • 1. Industrial Electricians
How relevant are the following tasks for industrial electricians transitioning to the wind energy sector?

      (1 = Not relevant, 5 = Highly relevant)

    • 2. Oil and Gas Technicians
How relevant are the following tasks for oil and gas technicians transitioning to the wind energy sector?

      (1 = Not relevant, 5 = Highly relevant)

    • 3. Preventive Maintenance Technicians
How important are the following preventive maintenance tasks for wind turbine operations?

      (1 = Not relevant, 5 = Highly relevant)

    • 4. Corrective Maintenance Technicians
Please rate the importance of the following corrective maintenance tasks in ensuring turbine operation.

      (1 = Not relevant, 5 = Highly relevant)

    • 5. Maintenance Managers/Coordinators
How important are the following tasks for maintenance managers/coordinators in wind farm operations?

      (1 = Not relevant, 5 = Highly relevant)

    • Section 3: Technical skills
    • Please rate the importance of the following technical skills for workers transitioning from the oil and gas and energy sectors into the wind energy sector.
