In 2022, Oregon Recovers established and awarded the Tawna Sanchez Leadership Award to Representative Tawna Sanchez in recognition of her exceptional leadership and advocacy on behalf of the recovery community.
We are now accepting nominations for the 2024 recipient of the award. Our goal is to recognize an individual who leverages their personal recovery to advocate for an end to Oregon’s addiction crisis. Award recipients must embody the courage, clarity and commitment of its namesake, Representative Tawna Sanchez.
Award nominees should meet the following criteria:
· at least two years of recovery
· a demonstrated commitment to policy advocacy
· a history of speaking truth to power
Current Oregon Recovers staff and board members are not eligible to receive the award.
