    • REGISTER TO VOTE 
    • The Georgia voter registration deadline was October 7, 2024. Georgia does not allow new voter registration after this date for the 2024 General Election.
    • GET VOTER ID 
    • GEORGIA VOTER ID OPTIONS

      You will need one of the following forms of Photo ID to use as Voter ID when voting in person:

      • A Georgia driver's license, even if expired
      • Any State or Federal government-issued photo ID. (including an unexpired driver’s license or permit from a different state).
      • Valid US Passport (unexpired)
      • Valid U.S. military photo ID (unexpired) containing a photograph of the voter
      • Tribal ID with photo (unexpired) containing a photograph of the voter
      • A free Voter ID card issued by your county registrar's office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services.
      • Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state
      • Student ID from a Georgia public College or University (see list below)

    • FIND EARLY VOTING POLLING LOCATIONS AND HOURS
       
      • Remember to bring your Voter ID!
      • Georgia’s Early Voting is by personal absentee ballot. See tips below for voting by absentee ballot.
       
      • Get your personal ballot and fill it out completely in blue or black ink.
      • Put your voted ballot inside the secrecy sleeve and seal.
        Put the sealed secrecy sleeve inside the larger outer envelope.
      • Sign and write your name on the Certification on the larger return envelope.
      • Seal the larger return envelope and hand it to an elections official or place it in a secure dropbox.
    • FIND ELECTION DAY POLLING PLACE
      • Some colleges have on-campus polling places and most Election Day polling places are within a few blocks. Look up your polling place.
      • Bring Voter ID.
      • Vote Early in the Day: The polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm.
      • If you are in line when the polls close, stay in line. Anyone in line must be allowed to vote by law.

      1. You have the right to vote from study abroad or out of state location in every election.
      2. Visit Vote from Abroad to vote from abroad or overseas and have your vote count in North Carolina. Don't hesitate to use the chat icon at the bottom of their page for live help.
      3. Active-duty military and military families stationed anywhere in the US or abroad should visit FVAP.GOV to get your military ballot.

    • We do not recommend absentee or voting by mail-in ballot when Early Voting or Election Day voting at the polls is a possibility. Mail-in-ballots have very specific instructions and can be “spoiled” if not filled out correctly.

      To vote by mail or absentee in Georgia seek help from a Studentvote.Info volunteer by emailing contact@studentvote.info.

    • REGISTER ONLINE
       

      • To register online, your GA driver's license address needs to match your school address, so you will need to update that through the DMV before registering.

      • If you do not want to change your license address, you'll need to register with a paper form using the instructions to register without a GA driver's license.

    • Register without a GA driver's license

    • Register with the paper voter registration form which must be received by the county Board of Elections office no later than Monday Oct 7th.

    • RECOMMENDED: Register now on Campus

    • Find a voter registration drive or event on campus ASAP - look for volunteers at tables or with clipboards so you can fill out a paper form and the volunteer will take it to the County for you before the deadline. All you need to know is your Social Security Number.

      We can mail you a paper form and a stamped envelope addressed to your County Board of Elections if you request your form by Wednesday Sept. 25,
      You must complete the form and get it in the mailbox no later than Monday Sept. 30 to ensure it arrives by the Oct 7 deadline.

      Fill in the registration form on your computer, print a copy and return it one of two ways

      • Bring it to a voter registration volunteer on your campus.

      • Hand deliver it to your County Elections office in person.

      • Despite confusing wording on the voter registration form you do NOT need "proof of residence" to register to vote. Just the final four digits of our social security number.

      • If you live in a dorm at a college with a mailroom in a different building, you must find your dorm's street address (google it) and use that address as your "Home Address" for voter registration.

      • Only use your mailroom address as your "Mailing Address" for voter registration.
