Part 1: Introductory Questions:
1. What draws you to the RA position? Please explain.
2. Please describe a relationship that you have/have had that has been instrumental to your growth as a person (preferably someone you've known longer than a year). How did this relationship support or challenge your growth?
3. Given the wide variety of student identities that are present at PLNU, what is a current student population you need to learn more about and engage on our campus community?
4. How has your understanding of faith developed and/or changed and how has that influenced how you live out/embody your faith? If you feel that your faith has not changed, please explain what faith means to you and how you live out/embody your faith.
Part 2: Personal Reflection:
As a part of the RA application process, we would love to get to know you better! This next exercise is intended to provide us with more insight into who you are and what you value. The content of your answers/the values you choose will not affect your application status. (It is, however, required for you to participate in this exercise for your application to be considered complete.)
Set aside 15 minutes to engage with Brené Brown’s Values exercise and reflect. To access the values list, right click on this link and open in a new tab. Pick two values that deeply resonate with you. You can start by circling 15, then narrow it down to 10, then 5, then down 2. Resist holding on to words that resemble something that you’ve been coached to be, words that have never felt true for you. We want to clarify that there is no “right” answer and we consider all the values listed important. In 100-250 words, reflect on these questions: Which two values did you pick? What about these two values stands out/is important to you?
