Literary Illuminators Literacy Grant Application
Literary Illuminators is a nonprofit organization that promotes the importance, development, and continuation of literary programs. This is achieved through grants awarded to local school districts with the mission of increasing student exposure to literacy through novel studies, author events, and other activities.

Our mission is to create excitement within students by promoting the importance of literacy programs through grants awarded to local school districts.

Teachers or administrators can apply for the Literary Illuminators Literacy Grant to ask for assistance with a literacy program, novel studies, author events and other literacy related activities/events. Upon the deadline of submission the grant committee will grade the grants based on the attached rubric and rank them based on grades given.

Description of the project, novel study, or author visit. - Must include how it relates back to NC Standards. Please list out the NC Standards that are addressed with this project. How will this better the students learning in literacy?

Measurement of Outcome: How will you measure what has been learned? - As an individual student, as a class, as a school? What are the goals for this project? Are your goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Revelant, Time-Based?

Timeline and Responsibilities: What are the tasks that need to be accomplished and on what timeline? Who will be handling/taking responsibility for these tasks?

Detailed Budget: The grant amount will be $500. What is your detailed and itemized budget for this project? If your budget is more than the grant amount how will the rest be taken care of.

Goal alignment and impact of student/school/community: How does this align with Literary Illuminators mission and goals? How will you have this project reach out and impact the rest of the school and/or community?

We request that once the project is completed that a final report be sent with pictures and a small summary about it and how it went. If there are any presentations of learning we would love to attend as well. We can't wait to see what all you can accomplish if you receive the grant.
