002 Activity - Feature - Value - Restore the Bay Logo
  • Before you begin

Restore the Bay uses a very different approach to gathering information and implementing nature-based changes. Because of this, we invite you to spend a moment looking at the links below, so we can explain how and why we are asking these questions. The questions are designed to shift the way we think about, connect with, and value our Bay.

For those who wish to understand more about the science, here is an overview of the project and how it works. Find out more here.

WHY SHOULD I SPEND 25 MINUTES ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS?

Project manager Simon Mustoe explains why these questions are important and why this unique approach will make a difference to how our Bay is looked after. Find out more here.

    A. ROUGHLY WHERE DO YOU DO VISIT? Choose a place you prefer to visit for the activity / activities you wish to list for that location. This doesn't have to be precise. We only need an approximate area.

    B. CHOOSE ONE ACTIVITY Please choose one activity from the list. If you do multiple activities in the same place, please start a new page for each new activity.

    C. NAME ONE FEATURE OF NATURE IMPORTANT TO YOU: When describing a feature, DO NOT use a place name. A feature is not a place, it's what your activity specifically focuses on. For example, you might seek to run on a SANDY BEACH; Photograph SEAHORSES; fish for FLATHEAD; swim in CLEAR WATER; search for FOSSIL SHARK TEETH; paint SANDSTONE CLIFFS; or walk on SEA CLIFFS.

    D. LIST VALUES / BENEFITS: Choose one or more values you get from your combination of Activity + Feature. This is the very important part of the process. It links ecosystem assets with personal values and is unique and powerful information, essential to planning a better future for our bay.
