Requirements
To qualify for funding from Clear Voice’s InPower Project, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are a refugee or migrant living in the UK (United Kingdom).
- Possess a National Insurance Number (NINO).
- Can work part-time for level 1 & 2 courses
- Or unemployed if applying for the level 3 course (the intensity of the course requires a full-time commitment).
- Access to a laptop, a good internet connection & dedicated work space.
- You must be aged 18+
Applications from Asylum Seekers
We do not typically accept applications from asylum seekers, however, if you have a document from the Home Office proving your eligibility to work in the UK, you may complete this application form.
Progression
We will place you on a course that is appropriate for your experience and level of English. It is possible to progress through the levels, beginning with level 1 and moving on to levels 2 and 3 upon successfully completing those course.
If you have interpreting experience, a higher education qualification & a strong level of English, you may be immediately placed on a level 3 course.
Qualifications
A level 3 is Community Interpreting qualification is equivalent to a Diploma. It is intense & requires substantial commitment. Only serious candidates will be considered. Levels 1 & 2 are non-accredited courses.
Course format
All courses take place online, so internet access is essential to attend the live sessions. The classes are note recorded.
All sessions take place either in the morning or afternoon and you must meet an attendance threshold to successfully complete the course. Sessions may take place on weekends or evenings if there is a high volume of requests.
Working with Clear Voice
If you successfuly complete the level 3 course, we will invite you to register with Clear Voice as a freelance interpreter and being working with us.
