  • Legal & Lifestyle Concerns

In caring for our members, we believe it is our responsibility to build a team that is able to provide healthy, safe, and nurturing relationships. Please answer the following questions accordingly. Any special concerns you may have can be discussed individually with a pastor.
  • These include but are not limited to tobacco, using illegal drugs, abusing prescription drugs, or participating in activity that would call your intentions/character into question.

  • Keeping Appropriate Boundaries

  • To protect relationships and maintain the integrity of Christ Community, please establish healthy boundaries in relationships with members of the opposite sex. For example, residents who are married should not:

    1. Go to lunch alone with members of the opposite sex.
    2. Have members of the opposite sex pick them up or drive them around.
    3. Show affection to members of the opposite sex that could be questioned.
    4. Be alone at home with members of the opposite sex.

All residents, whether single or married, should not:

    1. Counsel members of the opposite sex alone and should not counsel members of the opposite sex more than once without the person's spouse. Please refer them to a counselor of the same gender after one meeting.
    2. Discuss detailed sexual problems with members of the opposite sex in counseling. Refer them to a counselor of the same gender.
    3. Discuss your marriage problems with a resident of the opposite sex.

All residents, whether single or married, should:

    1. Be careful in answering email, instant messages, cards, letters, etc. from members of the opposite sex.
    2. Make your co-workers your protective ally.
    3. Pray for the integrity of other residents, Christ Community staff members, and ministry partners.
