To protect relationships and maintain the integrity of Christ Community, please establish healthy boundaries in relationships with members of the opposite sex. For example, residents who are married should not:
- Go to lunch alone with members of the opposite sex.
- Have members of the opposite sex pick them up or drive them around.
- Show affection to members of the opposite sex that could be questioned.
- Be alone at home with members of the opposite sex.
All residents, whether single or married, should not:
- Counsel members of the opposite sex alone and should not counsel members of the opposite sex more than once without the person's spouse. Please refer them to a counselor of the same gender after one meeting.
- Discuss detailed sexual problems with members of the opposite sex in counseling. Refer them to a counselor of the same gender.
- Discuss your marriage problems with a resident of the opposite sex.
All residents, whether single or married, should:
- Be careful in answering email, instant messages, cards, letters, etc. from members of the opposite sex.
- Make your co-workers your protective ally.
- Pray for the integrity of other residents, Christ Community staff members, and ministry partners.
