The objective of the Hancock County 4-H Foundation scholarship program is to provide scholarships to college bound students (including those planning to attend a technical or vocational school), who have been active Hancock County 4-H members. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional scholastic ability, involvement in 4-H, community service, and/or financial need. Previous 4-H scholarship winners are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must meet all eligibility guidelines, including:
- Be a high school senior or high school graduate;
- Be an active Hancock County 4-H member at time of application.
The criteria for awarding the scholarships are as follows:
- Scholarship and academic performance
- Demonstrate involvement in 4-H and community service
- Character and personality
Applications must be submitted by midnight on March 31, 2025, along with an uploaded digital photo (to be used in promotional material), and an official transcript. As part of the application process, applicants will be expected to participate in an in-person interview with the Foundation board in April. Exact date and time TBD.
